Hi,
Has anyone run into the issue where the tail boom braces actually disconnected? Each end screws, in however the brace/rod slips into the section that screws in. These are supposed to be glued so they don't pop out. I had both (thankfully on the end where they connect to the skids) disconnect while flying. For most of you , just a slight challenge for landing. As a CX2 flyer just starting out flying CP, having these both disconnect on my first attempts at hovering posed a landing challenge to say the least.
I loosened the horizonal stablizer, used a small amount of glue and re-inserting them into place then securing the stabilizer. This did resolve the issue. A few hovers a couple hours after the glue dried confirmed all was well. If that did not work the alternative was to spend the $4 on a new pair. I am glad the top section did not seperate, that would have been bad news for my rotors!
I checked a few pictures I took of my Blade 400 after I purchased it it. I did not realize it at the time, but I can now see the brace had started to back out..
Beginners luck I guess. Drives home the importance of checking EVERYTHING while doing a pre-flight!
