Hi,
Has anyone run into the issue where the tail boom braces actually disconnected? Each end screws, in however the brace/rod slips into the section that screws in. These are supposed to be glued so they don't pop out. I had both (thankfully on the end where they connect to the skids) disconnect while flying. For most of you , just a slight challenge for landing. As a CX2 flyer just starting out flying CP, having these both disconnect on my first attempts at hovering posed a landing challenge to say the least.

I loosened the horizonal stablizer, used a small amount of glue and re-inserting them into place then securing the stabilizer. This did resolve the issue. A few hovers a couple hours after the glue dried confirmed all was well. If that did not work the alternative was to spend the $4 on a new pair. I am glad the top section did not seperate, that would have been bad news for my rotors!

I checked a few pictures I took of my Blade 400 after I purchased it it. I did not realize it at the time, but I can now see the brace had started to back out..

Beginners luck I guess. Drives home the importance of checking EVERYTHING while doing a pre-flight!

yes seems that manufactures didnt put enough glue to with stand the vibrations and normal wear

its always good to do a preflight check before and do a post flight check
so you can find things

Guess, I better glue them back in? They came out my 3rd hard crash and ever since I just slip in and ensure the fin screws are tight. They have come out a couple times since in minor crashes and I just slip back in.

Maybe with them not glued in saves other parts ??? What ya think or should I re-glue them?

One of mine broke off and never bothered to replace them. I don't think they are strong enough to support anything.

After verifying that the replacement braces (part EFLH1461) included the actual ends that screw into the skid and under the stablizer fin, I decided to use glue. They remain secure after a number of hovers this evening. It was not pretty trying to land while they stuck into the driveway before my skids made contact. Securing them also eliminated some vibration that was evident while they were loose.

yes re glue

the boom supports keep the boom from flexing due to the belt tention and landings
also the anti-torque form the tail.
