View Full Version : Question about suitability of the TRM for me.

Hi Al,

I just got a Spectra and a stock G231PUH.

I'm considering the Zimmermann 2819 quiet pipe. Also considering sending the motor in for stage 1. (I've heard it's smoother than stock.)

Although the TRM has more power, power alone isn't really that big an issue for me. A quiet, smooth engine is more important to me. I'd give a little powerwise and have a smooth running / easy-on-the-ears-engine.

My question is - is the Zimmermann muffler going to work with a stage 1? I'm pretty much sold on a more restrictive exhaust than the stock muffler/hatori/century trio everyone uses. To get lower noise. 88dB just isn't going to cut it - either personally or with my clubmembers

I've heard a restricting exhaust is no good on a TRM. Is there a different modification that would work if the Stage 1 doesn't?

Thanks in advance for answers.

The TRM will run quite a bit smoother. I am very impressed with mine. Al is also a big help and available if you need any help.

The Zimmerman works quite well on the TRM motors. Don't worry, the TRM motors were designed to be smoother than stock while providing more power.
