Hello all,

New to the forum and RC Heli's.

Just finished building my T-Rex 500 and need to get my Transmitter and Receiver charged up so I can take my heli into my LHS tomorrow for servo set-up.

I can see how the Transmitter hooks up to the little wall charger, but I don't understand what to do with the triple orange/brown/yellow cable coming out from it. The manual mentions charging the RX and even says to make sure its turned off, but I'm thinking the triple wire cable coming from the wall charger should connect to the receiver batteries only.

Very confused. I want to get all this stuff charged up over night so it will work tomorrow.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Sorry,

I forgot to mention that my Radio is a DX7.

Yes, they are talking about the Rx battery. You would use that in a plank, but not on your heli. I assume you have a LiPo set up to run a Bec on the heli. That is the battery that needs to be charged to run the Rx. NOW - that being said, you CAN use the supplied Rx small pack to run your servos for set up and binding. In that case, just go ahead and plug it into the 3 wire connection, just like you did the Tx connector. The second red light should turn on showing that it is charging.

Thanks "DA54" for your very helpful reply!

I've now got both the small battery pack and my Transmitter Radio charging from the wall outlet. Both red lights are illuminated. The manual says to charge overnight or about 16 hours for a new radio. Does that sound right to you?

You also mentioned that I could use the small battery pack to test out my servos, which I think I've seen done at the LHS when helping folks like me get their heli's set up.

Thanks again for your assistance!

Sincerely,

I'd let it charge 18 to 24 hours but yes thats fine.

Yes using the reciever pack eliminates the possibility of the motor coming to life during setup.
