View Full Version : DX7 / AR7000 – Major Problem or Not?
Let me set the seen: DX7 & AR7000 in a new TREX 600N, I’ve now run a gallon through this model and no issues, until yesterday:
First couple of flights of the day and no problems, the DX7 and the radio equipment in the model was as bullet proof as ever – The problem occurred on the 3rd flight. As usual, I switched on the TX and the RX, the servos twitched and found their centre points and settled down, but I didn’t have any control of the servos, absolutely no response to stick input. At this point the main RX led was off and the satellite RX was on solid (and the throttle was in the failsafe position).
I switched both the TX and RX on and off several times and couldn’t get any action so I packed up and drove home. Now the strange bit, when home I unpacked the car and tried the radio again – It worked, both RX lights on solid and full control. I didn’t rebind or anything.
So, what is happening? I concerned about flying again now until I know the cause.
Thanks,
L.

I encountered that a couple of times as well. When it happens, I turn off TX and RX and then wait for 5 sec unitl i turn on the RX. Then its no problem. The thing is that the TX sometimes need som seconds to initialize or something. I have flown even if I've had to re-connect. Once connected, I've never had any problems flying.
My 2 cents: NOT a major problem

Sorry,, when I turn off then TX and RX. I turn on the TX first, and then wait 5 sec before turning on the RX...

That usually happens when the transmitter is sitting right next to the reciever, move it out a foot or two and try it.

I had the same problem, solved it by moving the TX away from the RX while powering up (as said by BarracudaHockey)
I've experienced this also. As above turning everything off and moving the TX a bit further away and trying again always succeeded in control established.
I've flown numerous times after this experience and never had a hint of problem.

Same Problem here!!!! And it really pisses me off!! Last time The sunniest day ever and i couldn't fly my bird due to the Remote Reciever not initiallising! I also tried to move the Reciever away from the bird but i can not say it was allways helping.
If the Two recievers go solid then there was no further porblem in flight what so ever. But it is really anoying not beeing able to fly when you want to only because of your radio equipment!!!!
Spektrum should start to address that issue very soon!! If the DX7 is working then it is a fine TX!!!

Nah, what's annoying is not being able to fly cuz you forgot and ran out of glo plugs and you just toasted the one you got. :bawl
I had the same experience with XPS 2.4 also. I would shut down the system, move the TX, and restart. Then more often than not, get a fine connection. This is a thing with single channel (DSSS) 2.4 systems, I guess. I haven't seen it happen with my FASST (FHSS) system yet.
This could be coincidence but i had a similar issue .But i did my binding indoors , I rebound outside and when i power up outdoors i dont seem to have a problem. Is it possibl that indoor interference such as flouro light, microwave ovens, cordless phones , tin roofs and foxtel could confuse or degrade the binding and iniatilising codes?
