Hey guys i just purcahsed a Hirobo shuttle .30....this is my first time getting into nitro helis. Was wondering what percentage of nitro fuel i should run. I have a bunch of 20% that was used on my rc cars. Would that be ok to use on the heli?

Depends on the oil content, look for atleast 18 to 20 percent.

I have Maxy's fuel which is 80% synthetic and 20% castor. Is that good?

yikes i called up maxy's fuel and they said this fuel only has a 12% oil contant. I do have a gallon of odonnell 20% with a 18% oil contant. would the 20% nitro and 18% oil be ok?

you want to use a fuel designed for heli's or at the minimum, planks.
Coolpower is good and is available in a wide range of Nitro contents up to 30% ( which i use). Wildcat is another good brand of fuel, a few of the plankers at my local field seem to like it.alot depends on the engine brand/size, my OS .37 SZ-H loves the 30% high perf heli from coolpower, a .32 may only like 15%. check with your LHS they should have an answer for ya.

15%-30% nitro
15%-22% oil, I have run fuel in YS 90's that had an oil content of 12%. It will work fine, there is just not a margin for error on the needles. I ran approx 10 gallons of Cool Power 30% with 12% oil in the YS with the ambient air temps 90 degs plus.
15% oil will work fine, I prefer it be all synthenic oil, so it does not leave brown spots on the muffler.
