Are there any technical reasons to choose Deans over EC3? Can EC3 cope with high currents as good as Deans can?
In a previous thread here, someone claimed that deans "have a much higher current rating", but I can't find any hard figures or any reliable sources confirming that.
I prefer EC3 to Deans. They seem to be easier to solder and easier to handle.

I burned up EC3 (melted) on my .90 electric ships, went back to deans, havent had a problem since.

Interesting. What battery configuration (and helicopter) are you flying? I guess we're talking about quite high currents.
and personally i do not like deans! or EC3 :D just go with 4 or 5.5mm golds

Electric Stratus, 12s1p 5000 packs, not that high amps, pushing peaks 115amps or so.
I hate deans too, but there is not good enough substitute, I tried bullets, but after a short in the bag because of tools laying there, no more.
try 3F hobby service for plettenberg 6mm golds MrMel, they are very expensive but the best connectors out there for your sort of stuff. Joacim Goransson uses them on his 15kW 150cc plank conversions, they are awesome!
