What happened did everyone crash this weekend and are rebuilding.....?
Wish, I had got Scolex on film before he decided he'd rather have a 500 dollar lawn dart :YeaBaby:
Next time I will be sure to have the cam on him and that was only his 2nd real flight!

Yeah I had another BAD!!! crash this weekend. The wind got a hold of me and did a slam dunk into the pavement from about 30 feet up. I think it was a wind sheer as I couldn't correct to the left but it could have been a servo failure. I guess I'll never know as three of my servo's stripped in the crash:arggg:

Yup! I still swear the cause of Scolex's crash was a stripped servo in mid-air, but no way to prove it.

Must be a disease going around on b400s. Lost a servo with a gust of wind. Crashed....

I had a nasty boom strike that I'm still waiting for parts (LHS out of stock) but a fellow flyer at the club trounced his raptor 60, I've never seen a heli bounce that high, the boom was bent up about 20 deg's and split like a beer can not to mention the $150 main rotors, felt bad enough to just shut my mouth and go help pick up parts.

There is a huge problem with servo gears stripping out on my 400. Can't prove it cause after hitting the ground all of the servos have a stripped gear or two. but on two seperate occasions now my 400 has suddenly pitched full left n hit the ground on it's side.

Yup yup yup, they will strip in mid-air, best upgrade you'll ever do is to UPGRADE them just dont replace with same junk. Alot of people me included are using JR ds285's on the cyclic.

I,m bummed, I think it's servo failure but the wind was pretty severe. It'll cost a bit (a lot!! ) to fix this time.

A buddy of mine (Very Experienced Pilot), was flying mine about a month ago, and the same thing happened to mine. He was flying circuits, and out of no where he had no aileron. Could'nt correct and the heli went in upside down.
Repairs costed me about $30 plus $83 for the Hitec HS65-KB cyclic servos.
The servos are definitely the weak link, but outside of that I love mine.
I hate to see one tore up like that. It is definitely humbling, but that's why they make more parts right!
Oh well, you'll have it back in the air soon.
Definitely if you can, upgrade those servos. You might have trouble finding the stock gear sets anyways.
They seem to be "flying" off the shelves.

Seems I was right, lots if not all of us had crashes this past weekend.

Hopefully the crashes will end? Did you crash as well?

I've been busy building a Gaui 550. I got the CFS kit with the motor and esc upgrade, plus I switched the ESC to a Phoenix HV85. I have it just about ready to fly, the only thing I am waiting on is gears. Everything else is ready.

Should fly Thursday if parts show up.

Will post as soon as I have video. I flew it briefly tonight. Super stable in hover, still have some things that need to be worked out though.

I have a choice to make.....Fly tomorrow and get more practice in before the season starts and all the people show up at the field. Or....go to Toledo. I'm leaning on the flying aspect because I really only need to pick up a slimline CNC fuel cap for my fuel jug.

FLY FLY FLY - Thats what I like about the field I go to, usually is vacant so I dont have anyone making me more nervous and pointing/laughing at a crash :)

Maybe I can get someone to pick one up for me instead. I should check with my LHS that is going. Maybe he could. I can't seem to find them at any of the online dealers that I'm comfortable with. Not sure what's up. it's a great product and sure beats drilling a hole in your plastic cap and retrofitting your hoses.

Flying field?
Once the five feet of snow melts off, I'll just go to the nearest flat spot in between the mountains and fly.:)

That sounds great as well, although I have the comradeship of the club as well. Flying in the mountains sounds great though I must say. I was just out in Denver. This is my club/Field http://www.kwflyingdutchmen.com/
