Accurate release date for Stratus?

I've been reading post's on many forms about the actual shipping date for the Stratus. Does anyone have an idea of the actual shipping date? I need to know. I'm attending some upcoming fun-fly's and I want this machine to be there. But if it's not likely I'll get something else maybe. Anyhow thanks..

This is a post from Carey Shurley in a thread that is a few below this one.

The plan is that kits will begin shipping before the jamboree.


He is refering to the IRCHA Jamboree that is held August 10th-14th 2005.
Carey should have a good idea what is going on. He helps with the instruction book for the Stratus, plus he is in contact with MA daily.

Right now I think the game plan is to finalize a few new parts so everything can be included in the release. We are testing a new fly-bar carrier design that really does a good job of supporting the fly-bar. It should eliminate fly-bar breakages. Tim has put a lot of time into coming up with a solution to the fly-bar breakages. Going to 5mm is still an option, but we are pretty sure that if you go to 5mm and use the same carrier design there will be the same issue. 5mm is stronger, but considerably heavier. Also they will be subject to the same fatigue failures we are seeing now. The new carrier Tim designed uses the 4mm fly-bar, but is a much different way of supporting the loads and dissipating any stress points.

Eric, Do you know if the new CF landing gear will be included in the Stratus kit?

The carbon landing gear will be an option, not part of the base kit.

There is a problem getting production volume on some of the parts, so it appears initial kit ship will now be after the jamboree. Sorry.

The parts Eric referenced are being worked on as well.
