CSM SL720 Gyro setup questions

I don't understand the manual.
What do they mean by "Set the gain channel travel adjustment to 60%"
I have a Futaba 7C radio, do i need to set the gain channel (CH5) endpoints to 60%? What is the point of doing so?
And i have one more problem, in rate mode, when i push left stick the servo reaches his endpoint at half way on the stick. What can i do about that?

Yes set the channel 5 ATV to 60% for the gain. Flip the gear channel ( Ch5) switch and set the gain 60 % each direction. This is how the gain sensitivity is controlled in HH and rate mode.

It is normal for the servo to reach full travel at only half stick deflection when the heli is on the bench. When the heli is flying it will not bind and and it will be controlled by the rudder stick. Rudder channel determines piro rate and not really the travel of the servo.
