Just received 2 3000mAh packs for my Trex500, and quickly put them on the charger so they would be ready for action tomorrow. But one of the packs had problems charging, 1 of the cells seems to have a problem taking or keeping charge. All cells where around 3,83V or so when I put it on the charger, but after 90 minuttes or so, one cell was 4,22 cells, most where 4,13 and one was jumping from 3,96 to 4,01V!
This was using a Bantam BC6 charger, whiche I have used with good luck with packs from 3S 1500mAh to 6S 5000mAh packs without any issues. Seems it was unable to make heads or tails out of the Maxamp pack tho...
I put the pack on my Flightpower V balancer to balance out all the cells again, then I will try a second charge and see how that goes, but im really wondering if the pack is damaged or this is normal for brand new cells? Will it sort itself out after a few cycles or are the pack lickly damaged?

Like I stated on our on line support chat let the pack actually finish charging and if it seems there is still a problem we will replace the pack with a new one. If it doesn't come around go to our warranty page and get a copy of the RMA form e-mail one copy to Alex@maxamps.com and print off another copy to mail back withe the pack.
Thanks,
Jason

Got it sorted to, but it actually spent around 4 hours balancing everything. Will give the pack a flight tomorrow and see how it fairs after that, if it's still taking ages to charge and balance I guess it's safe to say it's damaged. Will report back in both cases.

Got 3 MaxAmps 3000s as well a few weeks ago. Had a little problem with one of them. 2 cells (1+6) were a little slow during the first charge. They were 0.376V out of balance with a Hyperion 610i Duo. Left it to balance for 3h before I used the TP1010+210 and got it down to 0.035V inbalance after another 3h. Just decided to fly it for 3min and it recovered during the following charge. Flew it for 3,5min and charged it up again. All cells @ 4.2V on the 610i. The other two were good right from the beginning. Have now quite a few cycles on them and all 3 are going very strong and charging very well.
Might be my poor flying but I prefer them over my other four FP 2500 6S, which are not very much older.
Have fun with the MaxAmps, great packs and I am sure I will get a few more. Hope that your probem with it is as minor as mine was.
All the best
Chris

the Maxamps 3000hv 22.v Pack I had took quite a bit of balancing, and after a discharge then a re-charge on the Duo the pack is good, good duration and power

Hmm, sounds like it's just a problem during the first charge then. Will try it in the Trex500 today and see how it does on the charger afterwards. Hopefully that will sort it, not to keen on spending a small fortune on shipping the pack back to the state and wait for a few more weeks before im sett. Will report back how things goes after todays flight :)

Pack on the charger now, all cells where on 3,93V when it started charging. Nothing but some hovering and figures 8's for 4 mins to break it in. Got a friend running 4 of these packs and he gets close to 7mins of sport/easy 3d flying.

I have three of my buds using them in their new 500's and they are loving em'. My close friend is using 4 of them and the Hyperion DUO charger and you basically can't get him to stop flying now.

Jason, I sent Alex an e-mail yesterday for 6 more packs. Just waiting for his reply.
Well, 3 for a friend and 3 for me.

Seems you where right, after the first charge the pack has been very well behaved. Was out for it's second flight today and everything seems to be working perfectly :)
Very basic flying to break in the packs, cant report much on the performance yet but I like what I see so fare.
