I had a dummy moment and over tightened a ball in the swash plate - which caused the ball to break off, leaving the threads inside the swash. :arggg:
Do you use any tools to tighten a ball in the swash, or do you only tighten by hand?
Looks like I have to buy a $75 swash for a silly mistake. :(
Unless I can figure out how to clear those threads out.
(The part I am speaking of is the "Pivot Bolt" part 1005 for Mikado Logo 500)

Just snug yes with blue loctiite on threads to make sure they do not come out is all. Generally as long as you have blue loctiite on these threads they do not have to be in there super tight.

As you can see, I have access to both sides of the broken threads.
Is there a tool I could use to grip it and start it turning out?
It would be nice not to have to buy a new swash - if I can find the right tool...

I use a reverse drill bit. The metal is pretty soft and usually it will unscrew the threaded portion befor drilling all the way through. Just did this last week.

I also broke off one ball by tightening too much and another trying to remove it. Although I felt I could have reversed it out, I was very concerned that my overtightening might have placed some of the other balls on the edge and they might just break at a most inconvenient time. I had installed most of them by the time I broke one and knew that I had put almost the same pressure on the first ones. I thought it would just be safer to replace the whole thing and not risk the entire copter later on.
If you repair, I think your taking a serious risk.

Definitely fixable - if you're not confident any home engineer or machine shop should be able to help you out. If you have used Loctite some judicious heat to break the bond - but not so much to melt the bearing grease. If you have access to a pillar drill a very fine pilot hole with a 1mm drill then enlargen it enought to drive a 1.5mm hex driver down and she should unscrew. At the very worst you could drill out larger and put an M3 ball link in.
