Ok. I have about 10 flights on my 200 now and I am chasing the tail all over the place. I am using the E-flite gyro that is used on the Blade 400 and from what I have seen it sucks. I can't get the gain high enough to where the tail will be locked in with out "wagging" happening.
My scale T-Rex 450 Hughes-500E with the Fut401 and 9356 is great, totaly locked in durring 10mph gusts. I think I am going to get a 401 for the Gaui today. Any of you guys have the same experience?
I have just a cheap telebee on mine at the moe,nt and although not rock solid it is suffice for my level I do have to use the rudder now and then but not a problem. Think Buzz is sticking tyhe spartan on his be good to hear about those results. Being is it very samll and light The 401 is quite a heavy beast compare to Logitech etc.

Save yourself a little money (weight) and get the 2100T/3100G combo.
so you like the 2100/3100 combo? I think I may get that soon.

I have the same and it works very well...

Sure thing, but you will end up with a Gaui 200 costing the same as a T-rex 500 equipped with a 2100T gyro. :tongue

Its a little overkill for me at this point, but I wanted a rock solid tail and thats what I got with this combo. Setting up this gyro is no where near as hard as people have made it out to be, its actually quite easy. The tail servo is of the highest quality, part of the case of the servo is actually a heat sink. Basically there are 3 halves to the servo and the center half is a metal heat sink. All this and the servo weighs in just under 10g. I love this combo.

Yeah but isn't that a cool thing... :YeaBaby:
Worth every penny...:)
so is the tail rock solid even with the stock parts?

No, but the "manual" (if you can call it that) sucks - bit time!

I use it on my T-rex 500, and it rocks!

Well, I have a carbon fiber tail linkage which makes a big difference in and of its self (keeps vibrations to a minimum). But yeah, with the stock tail case/components, and the 2100T/3100G combo, the tail is prefect for me. I am pretty sure the crazy vibrations from the stock tail linkage (the metal linkage rod from servo to tail) was one of the more serious issues I was having. With the metal linkage the tail was kinda twitchy, seemed like it was trying to correct for movement that wasn't actually happening or something. I got the linkage guide and installed it, the issue pretty much went away but I couldn't get the guide mounted in a way that kept the linkage from bending a bit on its way to the tail assembly. So, like you and others, I bought a piece of carbon fiber tube and will never look back. I'm very happy with this heli right now, that will probably change the next time I crash it. ;)

I happened to have my pocket translator with me, so it was a breeze. Ok ok, actually way before I purchased the gyro I had watched these videos.
Here is a link, right here ---> http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=737104
I'll probably get dinged for posting that link, ohhhh well.

For setup of the LTG 2100 see Finless's tech room on the Hitech 5000, the same gyro and he has excellent videos on the setup.

Well I installed the futaba 401 and a digital futaba 3153 and finaly the chopper is stable. I do notice there is a ton of vibe in the metal rudder control rod. Where did you guys get the carbon conntrol rod from?
I have the same combination, its good, but not great, I have the carbon rod. Or maybe its great but not fantastic. I think a faster servo would make the difference.

Just put a Futaba GY401 on mine which holds it realy well. I am looking at the Airwolf Fusalage for it at www.ka-planes.com (http://www.ka-planes.com). Went into their store in Melbourne FL and looks like a realy nice fit. The 401 realy holds her steady.
