Less stabilizer is better for 3D...JK was involved in the design of the 500...

do you mean the vertical or horizontal fin. If you are talking about the horizontal fin the se v2 fin is smaller but the older fin design is larger.

Probably the only benfit is the vertical fin to help protect the tail rotor. Probably more for looks with horizontal stab.
