Hi! I'm not only new to this forum, but I'm new to rc helicopters. I need a little guidance here guys. I don't have very much lift on my Falcon 3D and am not sure how to adjust collective pitch. I just replaced the feathering shaft, blade grips, fly bar and paddles, and the tail boom. when I tried to fly, (in my case hover) :YeaBaby:, it will not come off the ground more than about 6 inches. The throttle/collective pitch lever is full foward in this condition and idle up is off.
Any help would be appreciated!
thanks,
John

I would suggest going to the Finless forums and looking for tips on heli setup and the principles on ccpm. Here is one forum especially

Don't stop there because even in the builds for the Trex 450 which your heli is based can be informative to your setup of the ship.
Remember be patient and enjoy the building and setup as well as the flying because the more you know about the complete package the more enjoyable the hobby will be.

well I did some investigations not sure if it is right but lets see
The falcon's pitch is controlled by the lower servo inside the frame that controlls the wire inside the main shaft.
When you first set up the heli did you make sure that at zero pitch on the blades ( completely flat to the blade grips and head) the servo and pitch arm (attatched to the wire ) were at 90 degrees to the servo.
When you add throttle/collective to the transmitter ( you should do this with motor unplugged so that the blades do not turn) does the pitch arm move up the full amount and does the wire move the pitch of the blades to the positive.
remember this is done in normal mode.
If this is okay and you get some good positive pitch I guess anywhere near 8 to 9 is good for this heli. then switch to idle 1 mode and see if the heli at mid stick on collective / throttle the pitch servo is center ( zero pitch ) and at full up you have 8 to 9 degrees positive and at full negative you have 8 to 9 degrees negative or as much as posible.
please check this and we will see what else we may need to check.
Please if anyone else can supply any more or better info feel free as I am just trying to help.

Thanks Mark! The videos were great, but your second post was the ticket. You put me on track and I actually had the picth wrong at the blades. I guess when I tracked them I took the pitch out of one of them. I got the pitch right and the tracking is good too. Thanks again!John
