yeah..and it's supposed to be windy and morning storms for me on Saturday...which is OK I guess... my youngest son is having his birthday that day.. so I guess I really should be there for it.. Sunday is supposed to be 75 and clear.. but possibly a bit windy.. I'll still go fly though.. I like seeing my 450 bounce in the wind.

ok i got a question... got it all back together and was testing it out... at full collective and with the right stick either in the top right corner or left corner the head moves like its binding, i cant see anything binding although the screws with the balls on the lower seesaw arms look like their hitting the washout arms but i cant tell... is this normal, i dont have the main blades on so it might not do it with the weight but i havent tried yet

It sounds like you have to decrease your "pitch" setting a few clicks in "travel adjust". Just decrease it a click or two past the point of binding at full collective (check both postive and negative) when the cyclic stick is maxed out in all the corners. *Also check the travel adjust settings for your ele and ail. Maybe those settings are part of the problem and could be set too high adding to the binding.

their all at 100% travel adjust.... so can i lower the elevator without lowering the other 2? i though they had 2 be the same

what are you getting for pitch at full stick perhaps you have too much pitch

i haven't checked with a pitch guage yet but i had my curve at 0,50,100... maybe i should put the top at 90 and put the swash mix back at 60

does anybody use this gyro/servo

how does it compare to the 401/9254

I'm sorry man. I meant Swash Mix, not Travel Adjust lol. Sorry about that. And no, swash mix doesn't have to be the same. You should set the swash mix up properly before even thinking about setting any curves.

ok i just realized thats a micro servo lol...

what swash mix is everybody using with the dx7?

65% on mine was giving me +11 -11 pitch tamed it down to 55% for my flying with fuselage +8

you dont have any binding at 65%?

Not on +11 but a little at -11 at full cyclic but like Bob mentioned those kind of situations are very limited in my case never. The shaving of the lower mixing arms would get rid of that situation. I now do not so 3D with my Hurricane ( or try too LOL) so it is not issue for me.

ok well i figured out whats happening on my helicopter... at full collective when i give it cycle the swash tilts alot which binds up the servos... ive changed alot of stuff but how do i get the swash to not lean so much?

I have a DX7 and I started at +50, +50, +50 with my CCPM mix. That was good for +/-8.5* of collective pitch (PITC) and 7.5* of roll (AILE) and pitch (ELEV) I ended up at 55% PITC in the mixing and and 48% for AILE and ELEV. That gave me +/-10* collective and 6.5* cyclic. I have room for a little more, but I did find there is a little binding at max collective/cyclic. I did shave the lower mixing arms with my X-Acto to get more clearance.

Decrease AILE amount in [Swash Mix] until it doesn't bind at full collective at cyclic extremes.
You might have to do the same thing with ELEV if it binds at the extremes.
I doubt this will be much help, but my swash mix settings are: AILE - 60%, ELEV +60, PIT +62% .. but every heli and setup can be different. Keep messing with it, you'll get it.

ok well before work today i went outside and test flew in my backyard just hoverin around a little and wow... flying with this new gear ratio is awesome... at least in my backyard lol... i did some climb outs and the thing shot up 3x as fast as before and didnt bog... didnt even do full collective, so i think im going to decrease the pitch some and see if that will get rid of the binding issue...

instead of trying to lower it down i got the cycle limiter piece which my friend has and he said it increased his cycle throw :)

MIke....
What gearing did you finally end up with and what motor/batts are you using....
I'm flying the Z20 980 with the 14t pin 20OWB and I get seom bogging on high collective.
I am starting to throw it around a lot more than in the beginning so that may add to it.
I would love more power...but don't want to kill my lipos...

im using the 14t pinon and 42t front gear with others stock... i got the z20 on there and i use evo 2170s kong power 2200s and gonna buy xcite batteries soon... the way i set it up at full cycle it binds which is why im getting that cycle circle so i can get even more cycle without going into the corners and binding... im assuming you have carbon main blades, but you have to keep in mind that alot of bogging issues are problems with collective management. you can get on the simulator and do tic tocs using full collective but you can back it down and bearly use any collective and still be as fast without the bogging... just takes practice. but this summer i will be buying 3300mah batteries and putting the rcp 1100 on there :)

got the cycle ring today so when i try it tonight im gonna c how much i can pump it up without binding :)... then if tomorrows nice will test fly the new setup and see how it goes

ok quick question... how long is everybodys long link from the swash to the mixer arm? the manual says 62mm long but mine dont even get that short

hey has anybody tried the rcp 35/18/11 1000kv motor? i saw one for sale and was thinking if it has a little more power than the z20 but i still can use my 2200 packs that would be what im looking 4
