I crashed my Honey Bee FP. Not a big crash mind you but it did wreck parts. I broke a center hub. Not too bad except it seems that no one has the part. And I mean NO ONE. I checked the usual places around and even some of the shops in Hong Kong. I hope the parts drought ends soon so I can get back to flying in the living room.

Anyone else waiting for parts?

I bought my heli in the first week in January thinking I could learn to fly it in my basement rec room. There is no way I could learn in that room because there isn't enough space. In the rec room, I was nicking up the furniture. I was told to go out in my garage instead, but up until a week or so ago, it was just too cold out there. I still can't hover worth a crap, inside, in the garage or outside!! I'm getting real good at heli maintenance and repair, though.

Even BP Hobbies had to post an item on their home page about the parts drought.

"Recently our orders with E-Sky have been delayed. We apologize to you for not having our most popular E-Sky replacement parts in stock. We are doing everything we can to encourage E-Sky to deliver our orders in a consistent time frame. " -- BP Hobbies Home Page

You know you can use a GWS center hub and rotor head (must use both together) instead of the stock ESky center hub and rotor head, not to mention the GWS center hub is stronger. Also Century is also the same
http://www.heli-world.com/searchresult.aspx?categoryid=10&view=all
if not and you want to stick to original design
http://www.heli-world.com/detail.aspx?ID=3393 and it comes with the bearings

I've ordered a few things from them, good company, no notice of received order or order shiped but they ship USPS, same or next day, when I order something that comes in a big box, USPS will get it to me in 2 days guaranteed

I guess if your disparate for parts, that place is okay. The links are usually $1.50 anywhere else, but $3.40 there!!!! I'd be interested in trying the O-Rings instead. I may also try the solid center hub the next time I need one(the GWS version).

I'm gonna try the o-ring thing too, next time I break some push links though, which shouldn't take too long, just ordered 2 new frames and some flybars, wnat to get them bad so I can go back outside and finish finding out how much wind is too much wind for the HBFP :YeaBaby:

Are you going to opt for the metal parts? Going to real tooling balls and a metal piece for them to go into is the more robust/reliable way to go (sound trac needed with Tim Allen beating his chest and gorilla grunts heard!).
I think you're the likely candidate for the Ultimate FP. Get the new, indestructible frame, metal pieces, Slo-Max, DD tail/ ducted fan, M-24 blades, blinking light package, ....:YeaBaby:

the only metal upgrade I'd buy would be a metal center hub

I finally got on Tower's website when it was working and ordered the solid center hub and rotor head(GWS). I also ordered the DD tail mod stuff. Unfortunately, the center hub and rotor head are coming from their second warehouse and may not get to me until mid May!!

Good news, Tower just confirmed it shipped everything yesterday(Friday), albeit from two different warehouses.

I got my parts today and installed the DD tail and GWS solid center hub. Both were easy upgrades that anybody on here can do. The rotor head is pretty snug on the center hub. When you order it, don't forget the metal stiffener that goes with their rotor head.;)

It seems as if the rotor head from GWS gets a little sloppy/worn after a while and needs to be replaced. It isn't that uncommon for a hard landing to jar one side of the head up and for the bearing on that side to pop out - in the grass!! Has anybody who is using the GWS center hub come up with a good way to keep the bearings on? I suppose you could CA the inner race to the plastic nub or drill and tap a 2-56 thread, but is there anything else to try?

Not to sound snotty but now that the genuine HB parts seem to be back in stock everywhere it might be best to simply go back to stock parts.

Anybody using the GWS center hub who has done something to keep the bearings from coming out? I tried drilling and tapping for 2-56's and the screw heads interfered with the head seating properly and it also weakened the hub the bearing sits on and one broke off.:arggg:
I guess I'm back to the stock stuff until I can get an Extreme head.
