Hey Guys,
My gyro is the lt2100 paired with s9650. I would like to ask,for those who have the same setup, at which LED you finally set the Rotate Rate?
Hopefully in the next week i get the little rexy ready and fly it.
p.s. Another great video from Bob.Thanks.
Cheers.

Hi Guys,
I've set the gain to 100%, but still can't get the tail to wag, and have a very slight right rotation also. With 100% gain set the gain lights at the top do not go all the way across to the right - where I would expect it to go for 100%. Which ligh do other people get with 100% gain set?
I'm about to try and redetect my radio, but I've been using it for ages and had no issues. I've just rebuilt after a crash, plus added 4400kv motor, so I've had to redo the tail. Before the crash I could get it to wag and was running about 82% gain (I have a DX-7).
Chopper is balanced in rates with as close to to zero drift as I can set it.
First time I set this thing up (Mini Titan) no problems, worked really well out of the box (looks like I was really lucky reading through this entire thread!)
Cheers

About the gain check your TX ATV/EPA on gyro GAIN channel and set it to maximum (140%?).
About the wag, I also cannot get the tail wag even with 8th led light up (maximum gain), but anyway tail is rock solid.....
For Bob:
when will you test this combo with one of your wonderful videos ?

This gyro is on his Beam E4 build and test fly videos.

Thanks, nice !
In case anyone wants to know, I talked to HItec tech. support this morning and was told the HG-5000 gyro and the HSG-5083MG servo are fine to run on 6-volt. I switched my BEC over to 6V and flew two packs this way and all is good. Tail holding as solid as ever and nothing is warm after the flight.

I'll increase the TX ATV/EPA on gyro GAIN channel and set it to maximum as suggested and give that a try.
I also get a very slight drift to the right sometimes, and other times to the left. When I use my Kong Power batteries it is to the left, when I use my Outrage batteries it is to the right? Only very slight, but enough to annoy me!
Any ideas??
Yes - it is as close to centre in rates mode as I can get.

Problem solved with two lots of gyro tape as a buffer instead of one.
Problem solved with two lots of gyro tape as a buffer instead of one.
I use two layers of foam tape and my Hitec-5000 works flawessly with the Hitec-5083 tail servo and has since the first day I installed them! I love this gyro/servo setup! Like Bob said in the beginning of this thread, the piro rate is not blur fast, but it is plenty fast for many i'm sure!

Hi everyone,
Bought the kit, followed the video instructions but did not manage to have the kit working.
The servo is very slow and it barely moves.
Here is the config:
HBK2 stock receiver
Graupner (JR) MX-12
Configuration:
- Expo: linear
- D/R: 100%
- Gain gyro: 25%
- Gain Gyro HL: 25%
- Sub trim: 0
- Travel adjust: 150% for left and right (max)
- No mix
- No trim
Steps:
- Gyro connected to receiver (2 cables)
- First initialization (hold stick left etc.) => JR recognized
- Servo selection: 1st light (specific for the HSG-5083MG)
- All settings to default (rotate rate etc)
Tried with the servo on the helico and on the table => no change.
Tried to disconnect all cable, reconnect all cable => rien.
Tried to do the setup with/without the servo connected => nothing
I am lost. What is wrong? Voltage? Not enough power? I know it only works at 4.8V. But it is connected to the gyro so it should do the trick right? Don't know how many volts are provided by the ESKY stock receiver.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Solved it!
Mainly due to gain set to 0 => very slow and wrong calibration when configuring the couple transmitter-gyro.
I just picked up a LTG2100/3100 combo for my Gaui, but had problem even for the gyro to recongize my radio!(12FG 2.4).
Some information :
Sub trim = 0
Trim = 0
AVCS/Normal Gain = 0%/0%
Limit/Travel = 135%/100% (These are stock values)
Hooked up the servo, hold right rudder stick, power up gyro. The first red LED lighted up from left to the third red LED. It went through 3 cycles and it's gone. Then I power up the gyro again, as it reaches the second LED, i set my rudder stick to centre. Then, TL LED lighted up, and red LED is lighted up on the left most side. I could not switch between AVCS and normal mode, servo no moving. I tried on full left rudder stick too.
I noticed in Finless's vids, after this step, TL LED is lighted, red LED is lighted up on the right most side, he could switch between HH/Normal mode, servo not moving yet.
Another thing that is different from Finless's gyro. In his vid, as the red LED lights moves from left to right, it's a solid red light. As mine is moving from left to right, it's blinking, then a solid light on the third LED and it hold for 1-2sec. Meaning, 1st LED blinking, then goes off, 2nd LED blinking, then goes off, 3rd LED blinking and went solid, and hold for 1-2sec.
I pretty much couldnt continue, can anyone pleaseeeee guide me along...:(
Thanks in advance!
No one has encountered such problem?

The LT2100 LEDS operate differently than the HG-5000. You cant use these vids. You will have to use the manual. I think there are some setup vids for the 2100 on Youtube.

Howdy all. Bob - would the Hitec gyro/servo combo be a decent selection for a 'rex 450 with a HeliArtist MD500E fuse? Also, thanks for all the vids

Yes that would be a good gyro for scale! Low profile so you don't have to worry about it interfering with the body. This gyro holds great and the only problem i had was the piro rate. If your not looking for a super fast piro rate e.g. 3D flying, then this gyro will be fine.

would a 5083mg work on a 401 gyro?

Honestly and I hate to say I don't know.... But sorry I do not know! I think it may but I am not sure... Sorry...

Read the paragraph at the top, and bottom of this page.
http://www.hitecrcd.com/servos/show?name=HSG-5083MG
I tried the 5083 on the "Standard Digital Servo" setting with the HG-5000 gyro and the servo would not function. If I had to guess I would say the 5083 would not work with the 401. As you'll read on the link page, HItec says it's specific to the HG-5000 gyro only.
