The dong Yang servo's i believe are those servos with the red or blue bottom section, i have seen a couple people have them on their heli on other forums and really they didnt say anything bad about them.

They are digital servo's which might become a problem power wise when using 4 or even 3 of them with the Esky Belt CP ESC.. so i would not recommend them if your sticking to the esky ESC.

For everyones reference this is their site. http://www.dys.hk/

This is the ones i want the review on, its new for 2008, looks just like the SG90 but has all metal gears.

Been looking at your mod for the DTS again, Ian. Having buggered ny frame, I might do a similar bracket idea, as this will add to the frame strength, not take some away. So now I am on the hunt for some plastic with a 90 angle to have a go when my new frame comes!!!!!!!!!!

My buddy at the shop is getting a new cnc machine, i may start making my own frames soon as well....

Figure out i just ship them all up to the EX in Miami as bulk and she can ship them cheaper for me from there.

no pics, i havent started it yet. All I have made out of my g-10 sheet that i bought is a vertical stabilizer. I just havent found the time yet.

I bought 1/16" g10/fr4 sheet from mcmaster.com. I think i paid 35 bucks for 2 sheets 24" x 12" which is really good. Cheapest I found it.

My stabilizer looks really good. I showed my LHS and they were all stoked. It took me about 45 minutes start to finish with a jigsaw and a small file to clean the cuts up. It weighed out to be 2.2 grams lighter than stock, but 3 grams heavier than the carbon fiber stabilizer that i broke when i didnt know my gyro was reversed. Its super strong, stronger than the bulky stock plastic peice.

Basically what Im doing for the frame is tracing out the esky carbon frame onto the g10 and cutting it out and then taping the two peices together to drill my holes, using the esky as a guide so the holes are precise. The aluminum bearing blocks and such will be mandatory after I get it done just to add to the already cool factor.

Ill take pictures for sure and start a thread, maybe get stickyd.

Hopefully your not going to trace it straight off and allow yourself extra beef in the frame to do a proper and neat direct to swash setup.

Of course not, why do it if i wasnt. Although I am thinking of leaving the front servo where it is with its linkage. Contrary to what everyone says about it still having slop, It does not have slop. The double linkage that it has connecting the servo horn to the pivot arm pulls them tight against each other. ESPecially with the bearings on both sides of the frame where the linkage goes through to the inside to hook to the front swash ball.

On the rear servos i think i iwll build some angle brackets out of aluminum and put the servos outboard. Plus i can polish the brackets and have even more pretty shiny stuff on my heli.

So in other words you are tracing it straight off :) if your not changing the front and making brackets for the 2 rear servo's then its pretty much the same design.

I would look at the king II setup and follow that. But thats just me.

Here are a couple of pic of my latest DTS mod, including the mini-titan mounts, a side plate for the front pitch servo, and a slider for a top mounted battery.

Any chance of a scan of the cf parts 1:1 scale so I don't have to buy them ?

Hi Pieter
In the 3th picture you can see a piece of clear plastic where the servo's are mounted on.
In my case a piece of lexan (soft plexi) 4mm thick
These are mounted on top and bottom of the servo's holding them together, the same piece of plastic is used to fix the two servo's in the frame.
Hope I did not confuse you to much :)

dis you use the original screw holes on the servo,s?

DierWolf

You can use any screw you feel comfortable with.

Hi D
I think he means the mounting holes on the servo's

dis you use the original screw holes on the servo,s?

Yes, I used the original holes

bwijk
06-16-2008, 09:55 AM
yes that is what i mend

I see in my set up that when i use the original mounting holes the grafite bar to fix the canopy to the frame is in the way . When i set the servo,s a litle bit back on the frame i have room for screwa but the linkrods will not be perfectly straight up to the swash .

I moved the cf rod of the canope 0.5cm forward .
You can see it in pic 4
