Does anyone know 1) if this fits a Belt, and 2) does anyone stock it in the UK? It is a metal leg/skid set for a HDX450.

You will need to drill new holes for the screws... and I haven't seen them on U.K. sites.

Less than $20 delivered from cnchelicopter.com, though - if you don't need them in a hurry, you probably won't find a much better price locally.

Think I might try make my own out of a strip of ally extrusion, Mika.

I am using the Align flybar and Align paddles with the CNC head.

the Align flybar and Esky flybar have the same thread size, but the align bar thickness is thicker that the Esky's. In order to make it fit in a CNC head I had to drill out the Flybar holders. I'm not sure of the exact size of drill bit I used but it came out of a standard set of drill bits and it makes the holes the perfect size.

I just hand held the holders on a drill press, and the bit will self center itself in the existing hole.

The Align flybar seems to be stiffer and more resistant to bending...and they actually come from the factory as a straight bar vice the Esky spagetti noodles.

looking at a 2mm hole in the flybar holder, that takes quite a bit of metal away. Do you think that it is weaker, having done the drilling Shane?

I drilled out the plastic holder, not the alloy one. But to answer your question I haven't had any issues. I fly the Belt in a very confined space and consequently have soft throttle and pitch curves. It may well be weaker but I don't think the stresses on that part are too high.

I do like being able to use the Align paddles with the new flybar.

On a different tack, got some of those titanium turnbuckle type swashplate to blade pushrods. Absolutely excellent upgrade and makes perfect tracking a reality!!!!!!! £5.95 a pair from "buzzflyer". Well worth it.

you can usually get those turnbuckle style rods at any LHS they are a pretty standard upgrade for R/C Nitro Cars/Trucks.

Wolfie, that link you hinted at for the Trex ally head, would that fit an EXI, cos I reckon that at $99, it would be worth getting the EXI next time I come to the USA.

Yes it fits...

Anything Trex will fit the EXI.

Blade 450 tail booms work with the Belt. They are slightly longer but all you need to do is extend the open slot in the boom that engages the "key" within the frame by 5 or so mm. This allows you to slide the boom forward enough to take out the additional length. The boom feels heavier but also better quality! Thank god for cross dressing - my local supplier is discontinuing the Belt (whilst keeping the Blade and T-Rex) so I now have no option but to buy online and wait for parts or keep doing mods.

Never mind that - the first part was definitely saucy. That post should be extended to a user manual that people actually bother to read... or a dime novel :YeaBaby:

Or is my internal heli fetishist just getting out of control?

Sorry it just slipped out!
I didn't realise you were all such a prudish bunch - LOL.

Still if cross dressing my Belt keeps me flying then I'm all for it -

Today I got 3 T-Rex 450 SE V2 main gears, but they won't hold the one way bearing, the hole is to big, and the gear is a little larger, what did I do wrong?

modelholic

You need this for the one way bearing
http://www.takeoffandland.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=34_36&products_id=1243&osCsid=02b02f266b1c7b5af65eaafb64ee77de

The packs of 3 main gears don't come with this part. Once you have this follow the T-rex main gear mod in the sticky section - very simple to do.

Hey guys,
I'm new to all this but so far enjoying the challenge of both set up and flight. But I have what may be a stupid question. I've just bought a second hand Belp CP and I think the head may be a bit dodgy so was looking to upgrade.
I was looking at putting the T-rex head on but can't find the right stlye of swashplate. So here's my question, is there any reason why I can't use the standard t-rex swashplate and just relocate the anti rotation bracket to the front of the head to suit.

Here's what I'm looking at;
http://www.rchelis.co.nz/product_info.php?products_id=174&osCsid=b9ada820aa3d54e65a4bcfafb003aba7
Or possibly the complete head;
http://www.rchelis.co.nz/product_info.php?products_id=818&osCsid=b9ada820aa3d54e65a4bcfafb003aba7

Will this work? I'm trying to find something locally (New Zealand).

Yes you can, you will have to somehow find a way mount the antirotation guide up front.

it has been done before.

You can always go on www.cnchelicopter.com (http://www.cnchelicopter.com) and buy the correct swashplate under the belt cp upgrades section....

in fact you can buy the entire sonics Trex head from there and it comes with the correct swash plate.

I saw that the t-rex 450 V1 featering shaft will fit, but does anyone know if the V2 feathering shaft (HS1251T) will fit my std plastic belt cp head?

EDIT: couldn't get the picture to work, here is a link instead:

No, the V2 shafts are one millimeter thicker than V1. They will only fit V2 heads.

As far as main shafts go, is it only the T-Rex Main Shaft HR1001 and King II Main Shaft? Does the part number for the T-Rex version have to be that identical number, or will any T-Rex 450 main shaft work (X, XL, etc...)?:arggg:

another_finn

Only difference I've ever seen is the material and the depth of the flats/waist. Oh yeah, and 3DX shafts seem to have an extra hole in them - for the 3DX400, I assume. AFAIK, you should be fine with any T-Rex shafts.
