Does anyone know if the Main Shaft for the Eflight Blade 400 will fit without any modifications... i.e. insert upside down and so forth?

i got the blade 400 main gear and size and teeth look identical. it even come with the one way so you dont have to chage it out all the time. i have yet to try it but ill let you know once i do.

I just mounted the t-rex 450 main shaft and they look and work great, much higher quality than e-sky. Only adjust the servo arms and mount it up side down, as stated previusly of course.

I also mounted the blade 400 main gear w. one way bearing. Perfect fit and it flew great. Very quiet.

Can only reccomend these two mods!

Hello Mate,

I don't think is possible to get the shaft of the T-Rex (116mm) working on the Belt Cp because this shaft is not long enough on none of its ends as to penetrate into the bearing at the bottom of the heli frame. I sent you a message with some pictures but just in case someone else has done it, I decided to post a reply over here to see if I can get some pictures of this modification 100% completed out of someone.

Look at:

hey NHelix!

It is about 2.30 am over here and I am trying to get my baby girl to sleep (only 7weeks old). :YeaBaby:

So I can't look at my mod right now but I remember that the shaft does not go as deep as the e-sky one. The serial number on my shafts were HS1280-T (http://www.fullkontroll.se/hs1280t-pack-huvudrotaxel-lasring-p-4681.html) from where I baught them in sweden. Perhaps not the same as yours? sounds strange thoug.

Have you tried using the other end of the shaft as the bottom - I mean flip it around.

I'll look into the mod more closly when I get the time!

It seems the V2 has the same main shaft as the V1, at least I cant find a particular set of mainshafts for the V2...

But I do not know for sure..

NHelix:

I just looked at the picture of the main shafts, they are differently sized at the ends.
So as written before, try flipping the axel up side down compared to how it should have been mounted..

The SE V2 shares most parts with the S, XL and SE. The biggest difference is thicker feathering shafts, so the feathering shafts, dampers and blade grips won't work on the Belt CP.

NHelix, I wish I still had my plastic Belt frame... Looking at your pictures it does seem impossible, but lots of people are using the T-Rex shafts with no problems. The shaft went about halfway into the bearing on mine, but CF frames need some tweaking to get good contact with the bearing.

test fitted the blade 400 main gear and it fits. i also tried the tail boom and that fits with the stock belt WITH modification, you need to cut and drill out the tail end. you can probubly get around this by just buying the blade 400 belt also ( if its longer than the belts stock one)and the tail would be a tad longer. it wierd because the blades boom has a cutout for checking tension and the belt has a hole on the heli, but with the stock boom its just blocked. i got the align woodies and the best way get them to fit is to take an old belt blade and bolt it throught the new align woodies and use a belt sander.

the stock tail has no pully bearing and it binds. i put 2 small bearings in mine but this would work better...

Which way is up side down on the align main shaft?

Which way should the text read - up or down?
It seems my main shaft does not go in the bottom bearing anymore...

I'll try switching later, but I thaught to ask you guys to be sure!

The milled recess should be below the upper bearing on the Belt, so you will have to make your own recess for where the locking collar needs to go, either using a file or a high strength drill bit.

Hey guys, I have a somewhat related question. I got the micro heli landing gear for my Belt CP http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?products_id=7770 , the plastic yellow parts are very durable, but the matal skids are not. Does anyone know if the Align metal landing skids would fit this landing gear?

Thanks in advance.

To be homest, I just use the align struts and skids. Just need to drill a couple of new holes for the screws from the frame.

Hey Fury, Not a bad idea. I might give it a shot. Thanks.

Have I done something wrong? I purchased a set of these blades along with the shimms to fill up the blade grips, but now have a different situation. According to the main subject of this thread, "there is no need to reshape the blades". I have installed these blades only to find out that I don't have the clearance to allow for them to move from their installed position. It appears that the hardened feathering shafts are a tad too long. As such, I have to reshape the blade roots to allow for some rotation in the event of a crash. Is this normal, or have I done something wrong?:arggg:

Nope, you are ok. With the stock pEsky plastic head, the blade holders are quite short, hence the small amount of blade around the mounting holes. With Align 315/325 pro and the HDX blades, there is more material, which you will have to sand off to make the fit on the pEsky head. But the blades are so much better though.

I think the hardened feathering shafts may have slightly different dimensions - I remember I was using the HDX FRPs on my stock plastic head, with stock feathering shafts, without any modifications. If the feathering shaft was not perfectly centered, one blade would not have sufficient clearance to fold. If the shaft is any longer, even a millimeter, you would probably have to shave a little material off the blade root.

Thanks sooo much. I thought I was loosing it for a second. I can tell you that I do not have the shaft perfectly centered and on the side where the nut is just on, but flush with the end, this too has no room to swing around. I now have 2 tools that fit without force that I purchased from helidirect and will begin to re-repair what I need to to ensure that both have the necessary swing. I am at work now, but when I get a chance to reset my feathering shaft, and reshape the blade root, I will post my corrective action if any at all.

Would like to mention here that the Microheli Main Gear is a straight shoe in fit. It has one more tooth [141] than the stock Esky main gear [140], is very well made and should represent a decent upgrade, due to its material. In terms of comparison, I would rate this part higher than both the Blade 400 and Helimax options. But at a much higher price. The following are examples (US$) of with and without the one-way bearing:

Esky $9.40
Blade 400 $8.99 / $3.49
Helimax $7.99
Microheli $29.99 / $15.99
