The one that ChasHeliCop uses with the sensitivity control. I checked our local Home Depot, Walmart, and two hardware stores but could not find one that has the sensitivity control on it.
Thanks

I bought it at Home Depot for $15 without the control sensitivity. It works great and it not something you going to have to use all the time.

Thanks. I did buy one without the sensitivity control but I wanted to get the exact one ChasHeliCop has so I can duplicate his test cases. If anyone knows where to get one on line and the model number of it I would greatly appreciate it.

Did you try any of your local electrical wholsale houses? They should carry them.

ChasHeliCop has many videos re static and I think he uses different tools so I'm not sure which one you might be refering to but here is the link to the greenlee thing, look at page 56
http://www.greenlee.com/cat_docs/Testing_Measure_07.pdf
Live wire here:

This most likely has the one that you are looking for. Let me know which one it is.... I might get one myself just for the sake of it:

Thanks for all your efforts! The Gardner Bender seems the closest. I starting to think its not a Greenlee since the only Greenlee with sensitivity that I have seen so far is the
2010 amd that doesn't look right.
By the way, I tried to go to page 52 but my reader only gives me 52 total pages. What Greenlee page did you mean? For instance, the 2010 is on Greenlee page 300.
I'll PM Chas. I thought maybe he would see this.

Yes, the 2010. So it wasn't the Live Wire either uh? In which video is he using the tool you are looking for? He is usually pretty good returning PMs.

Thanks much!

why would you use a device like that to make quantitive measurements that such device can't provide?

First, because I am not spending $500 to do quantitative analysis of the static, like Fireup did. I just can't afford it, nor can most of the guys on here.
Second, the only thing I wanted was to show the present and or absence of static, not how much there was, qualitative analysis.
Thirdly, I wanted the results to be readily reproducable by anyone who chose to make the effort to check behind me, with the same inexpensive tools.
And lastly, it works... ;)

1) There is a vid by Fireup that shows direct corelation between the data collected by this device and the $500 device.
2) This device has a smaller probe so it can be placed internal to the frame.
3) We have seen in vids how valuable it has been to detect and remove hot spots.
4) I will never build another heli without having this tool or a similar tool handy.

Cool, can you post a vid of you using it on your heli? That would be great. Also could you post some results. This may be helpful.

Thats the whole idea, to confirm results or show the difference between different helis and configurations.
