I'm the other Bergen buddy in Calgary area. Mark passed on the word Kelly. That's great news!
Had the EB out for a couple of flights yesterday. Woke up to 6 inches of snow this morning and it's still snowing heavy!:arggg:
Talk soon.

What is the definition of "northern Canada"
beyond the 49th? or south of Detroit?
I prefer "green canada" over "white canada" and this seems to be a seasonal thing.

Looks like your going to have to phone cris and buy a bergen or two. Then pack your bags move to canada, and a whole new wourld will open up for you.Very green here, bugs the size of birds, and the snow stays on the gruond till the end of april.

I have two twins. Going to fly one today. Do I get credit? :)
Canada is just too cold and bitter in the winter - I think where I am is good enough cold wise!

Parts of Canada is SOUTH of Detroit. They grow grapes and peaches. Now for Fort McMurray summer occurs on July 4th +/- a few days. Everybody wants to take the summer off........
Winnipeg has mosquitos that attach Bergens during mating season.... And on the east coast they attach fishing line and lures to their Bergens and go fishing........
You need to come up and sell some generators..:clappp

Not sure what 4th of July is about or what the mosquitos have to do with Bergens?
However, about the generator thing, comon guys, where is everyone? I feel like they are hiding, maybe all ran up north of the border or something?

Maybe one day I'll get one of them there fancy generators.
For now I'm pretty happy there will be Intrepid EB parts stocked in Canada. Alberta no less!! Should save a few days on the shipping time. That being said I've never had any difficulties getting parts straight from Bergen in Michigan. Usually shipped on Monday and I receive them on Saturday. Now it will be shipped on Monday and recieved on Tuesday!! Good news.

Hi Mark
I have posted all the info about 2 years ago here... http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=12988&highlight=electric&page=4
Follow the thread ad you will also see pictures.
some details: Actro 32-4 with 10S2P and Shulze 40.160 I usually fly for 10 min using about 1/2 the capacity of the 6000mAh onboard. I have had it up for as long as 15 min but usually had enough after 10.
Since the original post, I have upgraded to a Power Jazz63V for smoother starts and MUCH better govenor. I can't say enough good things about Kontronics ESC: they are simply the best. In the near future I plan to change the gearing and upgrade to Actro 32-3 heli motor for a bit more power.
When my Bergan was gas, (Zenoa26), I had a lot of vibration problems. Couldn't get through a flight without the mufler comming loose. It even broke a motor mount bolt...twice! Over 2 years now as electric and it is flawless. Smooth as glass and nothing has come loose.

Thanks Joe - awesome link with tons of info & very nice set-up.
10-15 mins seems really good for such a Big bird. Now, If only my knees could last 15 mins , I'd be set! Pretty sad when you batts last longer than my knees.

I've got two Bergen Intrepid gas birds and I'm almost in Canada (Michigan). I'm contemplating getting an electric Bergen Tazor, as soon as I can figure out all those numbers and letters 10S 2P ESC 34-4 stuff. A whole new learning curve for me after nitros and gassrs.

What am I missing? Can't see anything in the thread regarding parts availability in Canada. I steered away from the Bergen because of this very thing.

Hi Brad,
Kelly Steed (as of recently) is carrying parts for Bergen. Mostly for the Intrepids but I believe he has a few full kits of varying models in stock as well. He is located in Fort McMurray. If needed you will have to PM him to find out exactly what parts/kits he has in stock. He is always quick to respond. I've ordered a few things and it's the same great service that You would have received from Mary-Anne at Bergen in Michigan. Just a bit faster due to location. Typically it is now 2 business days delivery with Canada Post from Ft.Mc.Murray to Calgary. Where do you fly?
Rob.
Thanks Rob,
I went with a Trex 600n because of parts availability. If someone is stocking them in Alberta them perhaps I'll revisit the Bergen, Though with the Trex 700 coming out this month there is rumour that Align may offer a gas version in the future. Decisions decisions! I'm in Calgary but flying at the High River club. I've actually never even seen a Bergen! Perhaps you could send me a PM and I could rectify that!
Thanks, Brad

You'll have to let us know when you're in Calgary area. Mark (Flingwinger) and I both fly Intrepid EB's out at Balzac. Eitherm one of us would be happy to meet up with you and show you the EB. Good durable heli's. I'm sure you'll agree once you see them. Hard to beat the convenience of a gasser too. As well, I'm sure you've already read about the great customer service provided. That's the reason I went this route. Been very happy all around. I'll send a PM.
Rob.
