I run my 8717's on 8 volts. I am not sure if there is another serco out there that will take 8v right now. I know others are working on them. The run a regulator for the tail. I know gravesrc.com has the 600E instock and I think Modefo's has them as well as heliproz.

If your going to run 8717 servos you don't want to use a BEC. The 8717 are amp hogs and will drag down any BEC on the current market.

Trizz,

I'm running JR8401servo's on a Hbec at 5.5v

My next one I'm going to be running 9252's on 5.5v. If your after a really good servo I believe that the BLS 351's are a good choice

These servo's are well capable for this model. Can't undersand why you would want to run 8v servo's

Cheers

Matt

its not that i wont to run the 8v servos just looking for the best set up and the least amount of electrical parts i figured if the servos are 8v all i need to do is use a 5.1 drop to the tail servo, now the problem is what voltage reg to purchase i purchased the 600E kit with CASTLE CREATION-HV85-SPEED CONTROLLER AND A G770/S8900G Gyro/Servo Combo Pack and some tools what is a really good reg and a bec for the unit

Hurcules High Current BEC is awesome.
BLS 451 - cyclic
9252 - cyclic if your on a budget but still want a great servo.

If you want to run 8v system with 8717 servos you will need to ask OICU812 He has that setup and can tell you how it works. He is more than happy to help. Just shoot him a PM.

That is a great radio at a great price. Yes we built Jeramy's for him. Not that he couldnt but so he could fly it at the b-ham event. There are no special tools needed for assy. It comes as a half arf heli, and pretty well built.

what do you think of the new 9303 combo with s9100 i was swaying the balances of the dx7 and the 9303 hard choice whats easier to program works better i see allot of talk that the 9303 2.4 is far better, I'm looking for the long haul as for upgrades if i spend the money now it will be cheaper in the long run and whats the deal with the resolution 1024 compared to 2048 is for better reception and transmission

If you think you will need more channels in the future and just want all the bells and switches then go for it. DX7 works well for me. I cant think as fast as it can anyway.
