Hi Everyone

I am planning to buy a Cellpro10S charger and 2 Revolextrix 5S 4200mah batteries from Fma-Direct's UK distributor aurorra in about 2 weeks time. I spent the past 2 days looking around forums to try to find out if this charger can really meet my need. However, I have to say I still haven't find the information I need.

I have a TREX500.
I want to charge the batteries at home 1 hours before going to the flying club.
At the club, I fly on my first 5S li-po for about 13 minutes( by using 15T pinion, sports flying only)
then I throw the 1st li-po to the charger.
And fly the 2nd li-po. After another 13 minutes or so, throw the 2nd li-po to the charger. At this time the 1st li-po should still be in charging.
My question is, will cellpro 10S be able to start charging the 2nd li-po without disturbing the 1st battery's charging?

Cheers,
li

The Cellpro is designed to charge two packs of equal capacity and equal state of charge. If one pack is a lot lower than the other it will take a lot longer to complete the charge. The reason is that the Cellpro is not a true dual charger. It connects the two packs internally and charges them as one pack in series. The best bet with the Cellpro is to start the charge on both packs at the same time. Despite a few drawbacks with the 10S it is still a nice charger for the money.

My Cellpro 10s has charged 2x 3s just fine. What I noticed is that it will say that both packs are fully charged once the first pack is fully charged. What I think works best is to take the first pack off when its done and then restart the second pack. Then it just finishes balancing in a matter of minutes and its ready to fly. I have firmware 1.3 or something though. They are up to firmware 2.0 already and i'm waiting for my damn FUIM2 cable to ship.

Come on FMA! :(

did the two packs have start charging at the same time? Were they in similar voltage level when you started charging it?

my 10s showed two 3s packs individually completed at different times. you might want to call fma. sounds like a malfunction.

You could also look at an Hyperion EOS610 DUO .

The price are a little bit higher than the Cellpro10, but you also got 2 chargers in one unit, and if you would change to 6S later, it also could handle 2 of those.

Clipped from an ad at A Main Hobbies:
"This charger is effectively two 180W capable chargers in one unit. Both chargers can be run independently from each other, so you can charge two completely different battery packs at the same time! "

Hi bjosko

Yes, I did have a look at the DUO. However, it looks like the way Cellpro10S charges batteries through both main lead and balance lead is better than DUO, which charges through the main lead and bleeds through the balance lead.

What's more, in UK, DUO is being sold by robotbirds for 169 pounds, which equals to 330USD. This is a shame cos the USA high street price is only 260 or something.

By contrast, Cellpro10S's price in UK will be about 100 pounds which is a lot less. I've used the cellpro4S for a few year and I love it.

All in all, I don't think I will go for the DUO unless the manufacture and the UK importer both get the price right.

I belive once Cellpro10S gets into good stock the DUO will drop price.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

The Duo is more than worth it if you value your time flying, I got the Duo for this very reason, charging through the balance leads is no huge advantage as far as I can see, The Duo can charge my 6s 3000 plus a 6s 2200 at the same time in around 35 mins! perfectly charged and balanced, more time to go flying instead of hanging around bored waiting for packs to charge. So in my humble opinion the advantages of the Duo far outweigh the price ;)

What firmware are you using? I am only using the "shipped" firmware. The FUIM2 hasn't arrived at my house yet :(

I have a 10S the above scenario will not work with this charger. When you place the second battery on to charge you will have to stop the first and then the charger would charge them as a 10 cell pack and they would finish at the same time. I may be wrong but this is my understanding.

How about unplug the 1st battery when it is 95% charged and restart the charger?

If I do it this way, how long it will take to charge the 1st battery (5S, 4200mah)?

I know cellpro4s will slow down charge once a battery is 95% charged. If the same applies to cellpro10s, the charger should charge the 1st battery at full speed until 95% threshold reached.

At this point I can not give a real world test I am waiting on my 2nd 5S 3300 and then I will test this out. Right now it is taking me 24 min to recharge @ 3C with 1931 mAh back in

Hi, thanks for your reply.

is 3C 6A the max current you can put on this battery?

The cellpro10S will possibly start sell in UK next week.
I can't wait. I also ordered two Revolectirc 4200mah 5S batteries for my TREX500.
Are you runing the 3300 mah li-po on a TREX500?
