Futaba 9CAP
I'd like to set up to control gain on my vr(d) slider for my gyro.
So far I went into aux and set ch 5 to VR(D)

I then set Program mix 1 to
on VrD=Gyro
Rate =100
mix= on
Master=vrd
slave=gyro
link=off
switch=E
possition switch up

Gyro sens menu I have set to INH (inhibit)

VTR I have on 0/100

I am not really sure whether gyro sense needs to be active or not nor exactly what VTR needs to be set to since the slider is supposed to select the gain I want.

If anyone can advise me I would appreciate it, I found my manual lacked detail on seting up a slider for gyro

What gyro are you using? I believe the gyro sense function is only for Futaba gyros ...

What is the exact problem? Is it not doing what you want it to do? I've always found programmable mixes a challenge, but I usually get there through lots of fiddling :D I find the 'Servo' display very helpful to determine the effect of the mix, I'm not sure if you use that?

Cheers,

David :)

Thanks David,
Your right the servo test is a great tool.
I just got a PM from Markwebber telling me how to set up a slider for gain on the AP2000i which is what my ultimate goal was. He also shared that ap2000i gain has nothing to do with the tail gyro. Hopefully this weekend I will maiden my flybarless logo. once everything is trimmed and mechanically set I will mess around with the IR stabalization. Probably next week ;)

Then when I have everything set and miss playing with my radio I may go back and try to learn how to put the gyro on a slider but I have bigger fish to fry.

Cool stuff :)

Just a quick question ... if you're not remotely setting the gyro gain .... how are you setting the gyro gain? Or does it have a default value that it uses if no gain value is specified remotely?

Cheers :)

David,

With the AP2000i, it is possible to use the spare servo output to control the remote gyro gain. Of course, it won't be remotely controllable any longer.;) However, it is one way to free a channel on your tx for other uses.

Yes that's how I did it when I used the AP2000i :) I was just wondering whether Tommy knew that :)

Yah David I knew that but I was going to do my maiden flights less IR and with the gyro in rx channel 5. I was hoping to try the slider trick while dialing in the tail on maiden to learn a bit more about programing my tx. A sunny windless weekend is too valuable to spend programing so I maidened and adjusted the gyro the way I always do.

Flybarless Maiden!
