Received my Gaui 200 today - used, but looks to be in great shape. Being new to brushless & ESC - I need some help. The previous owner hardwired to of the motor wires to the ESC - leaving only one black wire being able to be disconnected.
My question is - is it safe to disconnect the one wire and establish my bind (DX7) and leave the other two wires connected? Thanks for any help.

The motor will (probably) not turn with one of the wires disconnected, but no, personally I would never just disconnect one wire between the ESC and the motor, because even though the motor is not turning, you do not know if a (high) current is flowing through the motor.
Disconnect two wires, and you are sure that you are in control.

Thanks - I got it working - cut and redid the connectors so that I can disconnect as necessary.

yeah, I have had some brushless motors turn on me while 2 wires were plugged in, now I either make sure 2 are disconnected, or put a 3 pin deans on it and unplug the whole thing.
