Broke the Elev D/R switch this past Saturday on my TX.
I do not have any D/R's set up on any of my heli's or planes.
Is it OK to continue to use this TX with the switch broken since I don't use D/R's until I can get it back to Horizon for repair at a better time.
Was planning to use TX at IRCHA next week and it probably would not get back before then.

Is it that just the switch lever is broken off, or are the complete workings of the switch broken?
If the important parts of the switch are intact, then you are probably ok. Of course it depends on what you did to break the switch. If you dropped the TX, then more might be wrong that you can't see.
You can buy a switch that might be a likely temporary substitute at Radio Shack or any better electronics components store. Soldering skills required.
At the very least, pop the back cover off and inspect everything. Then do a full range check.

The "workings" of the switch are broken. Handle is intact but has no "detent". Handle just moves freely.

Thanks for all the help.
Called Horizon this morning and they told me that this is not something I could replace easily, SO, never one to miss out on a challenge, I took the switch out and checked Radio Shack. They had a similar switch, but I will be in Indianapolis tomorrow for a few days and am going to try the Frye's electronics store while up there.
Appreciate all the help.
If it is the short two position switch, you can buy the exact same switch at RadioShack, and just solder it in yourself. It costs about $2 and only takes a few minutes. Horizon is probably trying to keep you from badgering it up and sending it in, there by making their job more dificult. It isn't dificult at all. Do be aware although, tht the plastic of the case can easily be broken, and the screws that hold the case together will easily break the bosses of you over tighten them.
Unfortunately Radioshack doesn't carry the spingloaded (trainer) or the ones with the long toggles (throttle hold and gear switch). I get most of these by hitting auctions and buying old transmitters that go for $5 or less.
