I was hovering around this morning in heavy winds, and of course slammed the heli in the dirt. I walked back to my shop grumbling about driving to the lhs when I spotted my cp sitting on the shelf with those "plastiblades" in the grips.
I couldn't help it. I put those things on the 400 and went flying! Flew all day today between thunderstorms. Look on the bright side....less chance of a boom strike....

Are you talking about the yellow plastics I use on the cp pro?

Actually not less chance of messing up your boom but more, hard landing woodies splinter plastic will take out what ever is in its path.

But my landings are pretty good, so yes, I use plastic on the B400 too, x-400 blades way shorter but helps in winds........never thought to try the ones from the pro, do you have to shim them or fit okay without shims?

actually, all I did was drill the holes a little oversized of the grip bolts.
Because I am a newbie, I also added a bit of positive pitch to lower my headspeed a bit, hoping to take the edge off hard landings and tip overs.
I upgraded to jr servos because they are more dependable, but stayed with plastic gears so I would have a weak link. I use align feathering shafts. They are harder than stock 400's.They are also longer, requiring more shims.
So, Now I just stay stocked up on servo gears until my flying gets better.

I've been okay so far, woodies kiss the ground and you have to replace. Plastic will damage more but will withstand ground kisses and my pilot skills are getting better (not great) but better so like you I will keep using plastic blades.

Hiya Goodge,
Heres' a shot of ole' "uglyeli"
To be so ugly it sure makes a fine docile trainer.
When whatsername gets back with the digicam this afternoon,I'll post a flight pic or two.
