Hi Guys, and thank you for this forum, i wanted to share with everybody this find about the CNC metal upgrade, you can find it here http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11988
This belt cp is my first real plane, ( the one i had before was an Esky lama v3), so does it help to get this upgrade or as a novice it won't make a difference to me. Thank you for your help.

Hi maestro
Been a novice myself (I can hover that is all) I believe you should stick with plastic until you are out the "Frequent Crashing Mode" once you are out this bad spell a cnc upgrade is probably the next step up together with a tx upgrade.

Hi and Welcome.
Most will tell you to stick to plastic as its cheaper when you break something... I would tell you the exact opposite and to get the CNC as when you crash you wount break anything.
Other than that, yes the CNC parts are more precise than the plastic as it has less slop. Its up to you on what you feel will be cheaper for you, spending money replacing plastic parts all the time or buying the CNC upgrade.
Hope you enjoy and look at all the info we have posted, your going to need it, as Lama's almost Fly themselves and i am sure it has helped you figure out what the sticks do, but this is a totally different ballgame and you'll have to learn from scratch to fly all over again.

Thank you Ber and Dierwolf, i think for the price that this CNC kit is sold i will buy it and will install after i fell myself more confident or also if i find myself always crashing as you said Dierwolf this kit will protect me from buying plastics all the time.
By the way this forum is awsome and i already dowloaded and saved all the stickies for future references and learning, keep up the awsome work.

Ok Dierwolf now we succeeded to mess up this poor guy :clappp
As you can see Maestro there are two way's of thinking.
The best way is probably your way, because after all ,it is you who got to pay for the upgrade.( I am thinking to upgrade to)
Sorry this was not a great help

LOL
We helped him :) He'll do as you said and fly with plastic, as it gets too expensive and breaks too often he puts on the cnc that he bought (my way) :)
I dear you Ber to tell me how much you spent replacing plastic parts :) i have yet to replace anything on the head other than feathering shaft since i went to CNC and thats a long while ago and many crashes.

Have to agree with Dierwolf here. After the 3rd crash and 3rd flybar case set broke I went CNC and have only replaced feathering shafts and main gear since.

With all those alluminum parts, belt cp is a lot heavier or not ?
Does they reduse fly time?
DierWolf

No no heavier to affect flying time... the alumium is very very light stuff.

IIRC, the Belt CP alu head is exactly the same weight as the Belt CP plastic head. Yes, I am enough of a weight weenie that I weighed them.
Oh, and hi to all the migrants!

its maybe a gram more total, thats not even noticable by hand..
What most people dont understand is there is a hell of a lot more plastic compared to the metal. So yes comes out the same weight, just tons stronger.

I got the CNC stuff and it is way better I did find a problem with the Feathering shaft you may need to put some added shims to take out the slop and get consistent tracking.
I keep the plastic all built with the main shaft to the blades. This way in the event of a big boo boo I can get flying again with one screw.

Your using the wrong feathering shaft.
the full cnc head set comes with 2 feathering shafts one longer than the other you need to use the longer one (believe it comes with the central holder) just check the 2 you got.
one came with the cnc grips
and the other came with the cnc central holder, only one will work properly with the all cnc head.
Also here is a link to bulk feathering shafts thats for the entire cnc setup... 20 dollars for 20 stainless steel, better fit for the bearings also.

Okay guy's you convinced me I just ordered a esky cnc head and tail of ebay (47 euro ).
I followed Dierwolf's link and I am awaiting my bling now.
If you guy's like, i'll make a "how to vid" of the assembling. Unless there has been vids already made on the subject ?

Would be interested in a "how to" sequence too. As I have said before, the instruction manual is a fine example of an oxymoron!!!!
Cheers
Mike
Ps. this not being able to drive is doing my beer intake a lot of good!!!!!
