View Full Version : New Bling!
I spotted this earlier on flying-hobby,com - http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_5_9&products_id=2694
More expensive than the original, probably more fragile, weighs more and adds nothing to the performance of your heli either. But it does look nice. Mines in the post :)

Here you go. Evidence on the scales.

heavier and no functional benefit. I think it would look better though.
what's this "Flange Bearing" thing for?

Thats a bad idea. If you crash and something happens where the head tries to break free from the guide it won't be able to with the cnc part.
Edit: Maybe I'm looking at this from the wrong perspective. Just seems like there has to be "crumple" zones and you are removing one.

If I'm right, which is hardly ever...
The flange bearing is the collar around the rotation keeper/pitch ball, that threads into the rear of the swash.
Nice touch, reduces the load on the pitch servo and makes pitch movement smoother, I doubt that it's worth the price of admission per se, but hey! It's Way COOL!

"... honey, are you *really* going to buy that.. .. well, yeah.. ..SIGH!, okay, so you got that wandering eye thing for titanium and carbon fiber, I guess I could do worse.. ..Love ya sweetie..."

Krapola!!!! (new breakfast food)
Sorry Larkin, I thought we were speaking of the head stay guide.
I've got no idea where *those* Flange bearings go right now, but a safe bet would be on the mainshaft.
Flange in itself is a weird word, very in-precise, and used in lots of stupid ways, I've learned to be really careful in it's use, you've no idea what interesting stuff you get in the post...

I think those flange bearings are for the tail, goes in the CF.

Crabfu is right I believe. There is two sets of flange bearings one for the main shaft and another for the cnc tail.
