Hi guys

got the vstabi installed on an xtreme 50 nitro. heli flies well apart from the tail. No matter what we do we cant set up the tail properly, it seems to wag badly at what ever gain setting we put in.

using the jr 8900g (same as 8700g?) servo and jr dsx9 + spectrum reciever

I assume under the tail gyro settings, the sensitity is the amount of gain" ? is this connected to the piro optimisation somehow? Do i have to set up the piro optimisation to stop it wagging? really stuck on this one.

or is the vstab tail gyro no good for a nitro heli?

also it seems when we set up the vstab and get the cyclic servos centered, the servos stay centered. but if you cycle the rx power, the servos go to a strange postion, and the only way to get them back to the correct postion is to press "cold start" recalibrate. any ideas?

the tail worked fine with a jr 770t gyro

many thanks

The 8900 is very difficult to set up with Vstabi. With my electric, there was always a wag. You could move it around but not eliminate it.

Most run 8717s on cyclic, and a 9251 or BLS251 for the tail servo.

Make sure you have the IC sensor.

Yea like John said, put on a BL 251 and be done with it, it works 100% with Vstabi for the tail.

Shoot I was planning on using the 8900G on my setup, I still have my 611 servo (9256) will that work ok?

Just for information the Hitec 6965 does NOT work at all on the tail :(

I just rebuilt after a crash and my 600N has some serious vibes you can see the tail shaking up and down quite a bit. But there is no tail wag and the cyclic holds rock solid still. 601 tail servo whatever the numbers are I forget.

Did you ever get this sorted out?

i have been running a 8900 servo on my vibe50.

you have to set your tail for 9253/9254 not 8700

my 8900 servo holds like a rock on the vbar

if you have a usb vbar you have a ic sensor
