Hi
Have just installed DX6i in my belt and am having a problem with it rising and falling without any alteration in the collective input.
video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03B1lShOWxA
I have tried adjusting pitch throttle ratios this does not elimanate it
(It really isn't just my bad flying)
Any help appreciated
all the best Ian:)

Was it more stable before the transmitter upgrade? Because all I see is bouncing in ground effect... If you enter equilibrium slowly, you can get a stable hover on the cushion of air being compressed between the blades and the floor. But when you drop into it at a steady throttle, the extra lift bounces you back - usually a little higher than the lift from the blades would normally hold you. Unless you correct with the throttle, you then fall back and the yo-yo movement starts.
Did you start correcting more when you got higher, or did the bouncing stop? Seemed more stable when you brought it to knee height.

Is that all it is Mika?
I'm afraid I'm still a terrible newb. It was worse with the stock tx but then the response wasn't as good. It's much better in forward flight also I forget how to fly as soon as I switch a camera on and start over controlling
The effect also seems to be intermittant.
Got to go out now see you later and thanks
Ian:)

All i see is the effect of the ground effect.
If you want more precise hover at lower altitude in ground effect you will have to Up your headspeed a bit while reducing pitch...
This is programmable thru your throttle curve settings on your TX.
On the Esky its as simple and turning the left knob down .

Thanks Dier
You guys are completely right about the ground effect:) there is actually nothing wrong with the heli at all.
I was able to run three batteries through it outside tonight and to me it seems perfect.
the cyclic to throttle mixing and the revo mixing for the rate gyro seem just about right, for the price the DX6i is a brilliant radio and pretty easy to set up.
I will post another short vid of it hovering an flying around higher off the ground as soon as it's finished cooking on utube.
Having done a lot of my practice inside and close to the ground I find it really scary taking it higher up where there's nothing to stop it flying away if I put the wrong input in.
All the best Ian.;)
