Hello all,

I'm new to rc heli's and just kind of took what my LHS set me up with for the T-Rex 500 w/Align 6s 2500 mah 25C Li-po battery. They've been great by the way, but are closed on Sunday's.

They gave me the Thunder Power 610C charger w/built in balancer and a Pro-Peak AC power supply. They also gave me a connector w/two banana plugs (red/black) on one end and Anderson connectors on the other (red/black).

The input leads to the 610, however are aligator type clips. I'm assuming that the banana plugs on the one connector they gave me, go into the output jacks of the power supply. If so how do I connect the anderson's on the other end to input aligators on the 610?

Do I cut off the alligators' on the input line of the 610 and replace them with anderson's? This would allow me to then connect to the pro peak power supply with the supplied connector (banana/andersons). Or do I just unscrew the plastic connector housings on the power supply and connect/clip the alligators onto the exposed shaft of the power supply's banana connectors?

I'm beginning to think that the connector (described above) the LHS gave me (banana-red/blk.) one end, andersons (red/blk) on the other is supposed to be for connecting the output of the 610 directly to the Li-po. and that I either need another connector for connecting the power supply to the 610 or I just use the alligator clips as I described above?

I guess the little card is for the "balancer" aspect of the battery charge.
The manual for this charger leaves a lot to be desired.

Sorry for the rambling here, I just don't want to hook it up wrong and ruin any of this expensive equipment. Any advice on this would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments!

anderson connector? ok well here is basically how it would be set up. The power supply will have its outputs, which will hook to the alligator clips on the input side of the charger. If for any reason they are not able to hook up, for ex the output on the PS has just two holes for banana plugs and the input side of the charger has alligators, then you can cut the alligators off, solder some bananas, and plug it in that way. just be sure of polarity of course.

now on the output side of the charger you will have the balance port, as well as the output port. Plug in the balancing card, which has all of the balance taps for all manufacturers, and also plug in the output to the leads on your battery. both of these will need to be hooked up at once otherwise the charger will give a "check polarity" or other error. many people new to the charger i hear only hook up one or the other and then get this error. I hope that helps.

Thank you for your response!

By anderson's I mean "APP,s" if that is what you were questioning.

The power supply has two output banana connectors (red/blk) that allow the plastic housings to be screwed about a quarter of an inch outward to expose the metal shafts.
There is ample room to clip the alligators to the exposed portion of the connector shafts.

I just didn't know if that would be a good enough connection for charging.

Thanks again, your explanation clears things up considerably.

Sincerely,

hey no worries at all pal. glad i could help. yupp that connection will be fine and like i said if you ever doubt it you can solder up deans leads for both so you get solid connections. what you have now though should be just fine.
