................ but do you guys think the Mini Titan is as good as the T-rex 450's?

Been discussed--leave it BE.

Here's the story; I have an Esky Belt CP and am going to get something better. I don't like T-rexers, I find at least our local guys to be very snobbish, you should hear about how they talk about my Esky :wow2: and just wanted some objective points of view. Can you point me to where it's been discussed? Thanks man! This is just an innocent request from an old fart that's new to the rc heli world, nothing more.

For ease of building and ease of flying I would chose the MTe325SE, this was my first build and was reasonably straight forward, am building a T-Rex 450SEV2, it is thought prevoking. The manule not very helpfull, I am very new to this hobby so these are my opinions.
The MT is easier to get at the components for adjusting etc.
Good luck on your build, this is a Great Hobby & this forum will help you out.

Cym, thanks for the info. I'm pretty good at modding and adjusting, you should see what we have to do with Esky Belt CP's! and so the building won't be a problem, it's more the flight characteristics and cost of upkeep that is of interest. If you think the T-rex manual is bad, geez, try an Esky one. What are spare prices like on the MT? maybe compared to T-rex. Esky helis and parts are dirt cheap! Great for beginners like you and me! Come meet the nutcases over at the "Esky Belt CP" section, it's a long story but we are all escaped refugees from another forum, but a nicer bunch of guys you couldn't meet.

I've owned both and have flown both...... I like the Mini-Titan SE better and sold the T-rex 450 SE.

Owned a MT and 450SA at the same time, kept the MT

Advantage Hobby has the Beam out now, very nice kit, have one sitting here in line behind a Vibe 50 but it looks like a very nice kit.

Andy & Jeremy, thanks for the input. I do admit to hoping that this was what I was going to be hearing.

Make sure you buy the SE Mini-Titan. The regular MiniT needs a few upgrades in order for it to perform right. However these upgrades are only about $50.... your still way ahead with the SE.

i owned a mini-titan for the last year or so and it was still my favorite heli after i got the t-rex 500. i finally decided to sell the mini-titan and try out a t-rex 450 se v2 and just the build process alone had me pulling my hair out. the titan goes together so nicely, low parts count, easy access to everything, solid one-piece frame (only item i never replaced) and all around great heli. i opted for the t-rex 450 se v2 after i plowed my 500 in the dirt and realized i can finally get parts for a heli at the lhs. i took the 450 on a maiden today (only 1 flight, on 4s) so i can't compare apples to apples and i only flew for about 2 minutes after the tail setup was done and the blades were tracked. felt about the same flight-wise. this little guy sure is more expensive than my titan. we'll see how it holds up.

I'll take the MT over the 450Se any day...

PS its also a little bigger than the Trex 450 v2 Se... dont let the 325 number fool you.

Upper & Lower mixing levers need to be metal. Use Align Pro 325 Woodies or Radix 325 main blades. Those are the things that REALLY make a big difference in how it flies as well as run cooler.

Using Align Trex 450 balls and links are a nice plus.

Just purchased a mini titan this week actually. Went for the standard version instead of the SE even though the SE looks prettier :) Went with the standard for a few reasons....... A couple friends of mine have the standard version and have had zero issues with blade tracking (using Radix blades) so why spend more on metal right away when it may not be necessary? While the SE version has a more powerful motor and ESC, it also will weigh more due to that metal so battery power will be used faster. As expensive as 450 machines are for what you get out of them, I wanted to keep my overall running costs as cheap as possible and that started with a cheaper kit.

I do like the stickers on the SE canopy though so I'll probaby get a set at some point :)

I just wanted to thank you guys for all your posts. No further doubt in my mind about what's going to replace my Belt CP!

Kinger, hey man re. the stickers, they do say it's the little things in life that count don't they
