Which is easier to learn to fly? Looking at the new Swift large electric versus my BladeCP what is going to be an easier bird to learn on/with?I am just starting to hover with the BCP

Easiest will be a 30/50 size nitro burner, but the larger the model, the better stability. Go with the Swift over the BladeCP.
Check out the Gohbee Stinger 30 and 50's, these birds are a great place to start.... of course, I still recommend a Simulator first. It will save you thousands of dollars.

The bigger the better!
Also less time between flying will improve your flying.
Initial costs between electric and fuel aren't big, electric being a little bit more expensive. Personally I'd take fuel.
