Yeah Baby....Nothing like the smell of kero
After my mishap yesterday, I decided to have a go at it today. After 8 minutes of great flying the RX battery decided to die. Fadec shut it all down, DX7 kept things in hold. 180 degree turn and a hard landing. Good thing the last thing I was doing was practicing hovering at 6 feet. Only damage was a bent spindle. Engine didn't have a cooling cycle though without power. At least it was cool out and I wasn't running her hard. I checked the voltage on the battery and found only 3.4 volts and with a load the tester blanked out.
I followed that up with a bell hiller link popping off right after I just pointed the nose down in a stall turn on the gasser. Good news, I was up high so plenty of time for an auto......bad news, with no link one blade turned into a oar dragging the water. It ballooned, floated and then dropped. Damage wasn't too bad. The heli gods were sure against my flying this weekend.:arggg:
At least Chris will be happy, I'm placing a large order to replace a bunch of my stock I ended up using, plus I'm replacing all my links so I don't have that problem again.

Ron didn't crash!!!
I'm just teasin'. The part I hate about crashing is not the cost, but the rebuilding back to "the way it was"...

Chris,
I don't know if we can count Ron's flight. He didn't even fly 5 minutes. There's got to be some minimum time limit to be called a real flight:lol: I know you are kidding, I just thought I'd bust you a bit. After all, I'll be paying later today.:D
I should have known to cash it in on Saturday when I dumb thumbed my first inverted hover. I didn't mention that I drilled my beater 50 into the ground by pulling wrong stick back to get right side up after my first ever inverted hover. Got so excited I pulled the collective back instead of the elevator to flip back over. Boy did that hurt:roll: Guess I need way more sim time. I'll be leaving the backward flight home on the sim for more practice I also, I think:D

I had a nice flight - I only filmed a little to tease you on the weather.

No tick-tock's? No autos? That wasn't even worthy of being called a flight! ;)
Just pulling your leg dude... Love the sound of that Wren and the big 800's slapping the air!
