They (guys who have both) all say they've flown both these and T-rexes and they keep the Mini Titan. Google "Rotorworkz" and "Beam" rc helis. Forget about Align! I always disliked Bill Gates and his products as well :lol: Give me a Mac and Linux any day ;)

Take a look;

Way better than our Belt CPs :)

You don't really need surface area - it just detracts from your tail rotor authority. Here's how I like mine...

Here you go - my slightly improved CP2...

I really like that ducted fan on the tail. No more tail rotor hitting the ground :)

Thanks Mika, I don't know why but "Funky Chicken" immediately came to mind. :roll:

This is actually a pretty easy mod - all you need is a GWS EDF40H fan and some way to mount it to the boom. It's a direct replacement for the standard tail motor. Make sure you get the H version, the other one can't handle 11.1 V.

As far as I remember, this was the entire procedure:

Dremel away most of a standard tail motor holder
Hot glue or epoxy the EDF unit to the remains
Get longer tail motor wires or find connectors so you can use the EDF unit's own power cord to bridge the missing inch
Set up your gyro again, because the gain and proportional will be way off with the new tail

The only part that can go really wrong is mounting the fan on the tail motor holder - roughen up the surface with sandpaper to give the glue something to grip. A supporting bracket would be even better - anything you can come up with to reinforce the seam. Having the fan come off in flight is not an experience I'd care to repeat :)

I used hot glue, but in retrospect epoxy might have been a better choice...

Oh, and here's a closeup to show how I cut the mount...
