On behalf of the Sacramento Valley Rotory Wings, I'm pleased to announce the 12th (or so...) edition of the "OctoberFly Heli Fun Fly"!!
When: September 30th (Friday), October 1st & 2nd (Saturday & Sunday)
Where: SVRW/MASM flying site @ Mather Regional Park, Eagles Nest Rd & Kiefer Blvd., Sacramento, CA. The field is approximately 1/2 hour east of Downtown Sacramento.
Events for: Novice & experts, night flying & more!
More info can be found at SVRW.COM (http://www.svrw.com/contest/svrw_of.html)
We wont be closing down the whole field for events or demos! We'll shut things down for a brief pilots meeting but that's about it. We'll have two flight lines perpendicular to each other with 7 total flight stations.
The SVRW will be serving a Saturday evening BBQ dinner. On the menu is BBQ rib-eye steak -OR- BBQ chicken, baked potato, salad and liquid refreshment for $13.
Something new.....
The folks at Century Heli are going to set up a booth and help out with heli tuning. I remember going to big events and being a little intimidated by the caliber of pilots and asking for help. I ran this idea past a couple of folks and they eagerly said yes!
Along with that, they're going to have a Hawk Pro on a buddy box. Anybody that is interested in trying a heli can give it shot! If you know anybody send 'em our way!
Small print: The SVRW OctoberFly '05 is an AMA sanctioned event. Proof of current AMA membership and event registration will be required in order to fly. Application for AMA membership will be available at the event.
See you there!
