I have heard that the Blade 400 flew extremely well from reliable sources at my local hobbyshop in Montezuma GA , but I also have heard that the servo in this heli will need to be replaced soon after it is bought, which will add on to my budget. The Belt CP on the other hand, I have heard that there is nothing wrong with, and is supposedly just as good, besides the cheaper transmitter that comes with it. Unless I was to get the ARF version, but to get it into the air , will bring the price up to around the same as the Blade 400. I am so confused. Please help me!!!!

No experience with the Belt CP, but your LHS was correct for a change. The servos will need to be changed soon if not right off the bat. Look at it like I did, with the 400 you are getting a 2-300 dollar radio too that will last you a LONG time, holds 10 models. I know have all my helis on one radio including the heli prgm for the sim. That alone was the selling point for me.

I was in the same boat as you. Trex-450 or blade 400? Well I went with the 400. It's not that bad of a deal. Great Radio, everyone has the parts you will need. Trust me just do some small hovers nothing extreme until you upgrade. Over all for my first heli I can't complain!

just remember ...buy cheap and buy twice. You'll get a better more well supported heli with a much better radio system by buying the blade 400.

I would go with the Blade 400, especially if you're just starting off. The Blade CP is very squirrelly and difficult to learn on. The 400 is much more stable and will let you progress faster.

I work in a model shop, and fly in work and for leisure. the belt cp isn't a bad heli, spares availability and set up is Very Important !!! I have a Trex 450 and a blade 400. the Blade is a great value package. Get a decent charger, upgrade the servos as you progress from hovering to ANYTHING else. They are the weak point on this heli. Several customers have brought in Belt CP's to be set up after a crash, and the build quality and factory set up is variable in quality from heli to heli. this is also true of the 400, but i've had less problems with this heli from one to another. The blade is a little bit fragile in the headstock area (feathering shaft, main shaft) but Horizon have FINALLY got the spares in. Here's what I would recommend.

1.Get a Blade 400
2.Ask if they'll trade the charger for a discount on a better one.
3.Buy 2 packs of feathering shafts, 2 main gear w/ one-way bearings and 2 sets of blade grips and 2 main shafts, and possibly a set of main blades as well.
4.Enjoy, don't run before you can walk, and keep talking to this forum. ALL the guys on here are knowledgeable and will help you. you are not alone !!!!

you know i think they are both the same in some ways... i own a b400 and my buddy has a b400 and belt cp 200 bucks cheaper ! only thing missing is a dx6i one thing i like is k planes has every part for the belt cp and b400 and ships in 3days! and the lipos from the belt cp work on b400 or vise versa and there cheaper in price i know im really geting no where on this but to me i think both are good helis if anything goes bad with the belt cp just give kplanes a call and they we replace the part like horrizon its all up to you on how much you wanna spend or have if i just recently orderd an E-SMART nock off of trex600 but cheaper price lol..

Yah blade400 is the way to go. I came from 3D planes, the 400 is my first heli, believe me it a different ball game. This heli and this forum is awesome, I personally learned alot everyday. Yes a few crashes here and there but we all start from the bottom. My advise to you is you have a crash funds every week and your ok about 30-35 bucks will do.

If you need advise come here and I'm sure alot of people will help you here. Whatever you choose we will still see you here. Happy flying.

Got for it! We need more 400 freaks up here!

And also pick up Phoenix flight sim. It will pay for itself in the money it saves rebuilding your 400.
