Is the copter x head a good upgrade for the Belt Cp or should I shell out the extra dollars for the Trex head Thanks in advance Rick

Copter X is same head as Trex Head..... go with Copter X and make sure you get the right swash with it.

Just got my copterx head today. Only part fitted and not tested yet, but from first impressions it looks like it is going to be an excellent bit of kit. I'm still waiting on a few other bits to finish off. Can't wait to test fly.

What is the correct swash? Also where do you buy it? Straight in fit no mod?

Hi Flexbs
Google this: UGT 05 Trex 450 series swashplate
I fitted one with my CopterX head and it seems great. The problem with the Copter X swash is that the AR pin is on the wrong side. The pin can be mounted either side on this swash. Just screw in the Esky AR pin and put CopterX, Trex pusrod ends on the servo links and your good to go . The only thing I had to do was file a little Ally. from the front ball mount to stop the link fouling on full up elevator.

You can just use the Esky swash though:)

I checked the Esky swash, and there's not enough space to fit the washout links on the 4.75 mm balls. Of course, you can't really use the Esky balls either without also using Esky washout mixing links... and if you do that, the dimensions are so far off you'll be lucky to make the head work at all. Mind you, that was the plastic version. Don't know if the purple CNC has any more room around the inner linkage balls, but it doesn't look like it does.
Not really worth the trouble in order to save $30 and be able to use an inferior swashplate with your shiny new upgrade head :)

Mine fitted... just... had to Shave A fraction off the plastic link.about 0.1 mm. I used it for a week while waiting for the Ugt swash to arrive, but yeah get a proper one:)

Must be about tolerances... looked like I would have needed to shave a lot more than that off the links. Of course our links are probably a slightly different thickness too. Mine were Align and built up like they mean it.

Yes mate you can see from the photo I didn't have to take much off. Those are the same links that I used with the Esky swash. It was only a temporary measure but it worked fine.
The main advantage is in the geometry and precision of the head.
Which swash did you use Mika?

I used the blue Microheli 120 CCPM Uni swashplate - T-Rex version. I'm just rebuilding around an Align CF frame, and I think I'll try the regular Align alloy/composite version now that the anti-rotation pin is no longer a problem. The unused Microheli swash should be the ultimate excuse to start blinging out the King II :)
