Hello all,

Just now finishing the build on my T-Rex 500 and will be programming my ESC shortly.

As I will need to connect my Align flight battery in order to do this, I was wondering if I need to put my battery on the charger (TP-610C), and if so how much or to what voltage should I charge it up to for this procedure? I probably won't be actually flying my heli for a few more weeks so it may not need a full charge.

I purchased my 6s 25C battery new about a month ago and have yet to put any charge on it.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

DH

Important : Leave the lipo at 50% storage charge (3.85v/cell) until the day you plan on flying. If you put a full charge into that lipo and let it sit for a few weeks, it will diminish the pack capacity.

Your pack should be at 23.1 volts ( check it). You should always leave your pack at this voltage when not being used. Your wallet will thank you !

Ultraviolet,

Thanks for responding to my question.

I hooked up my TP-610 charger up to my Align 6s 2500 mah 22.2 volt flight battery and turned it on. I took your advice and set the charger for 50% 6s Lipo to charge at 2.6 amps. After about 30 seconds my display started beeping and flashing the following:

F/CG (flashing alternatively) 23.680V 0.00A
00001mAh ^ 0:00:32

I'm guessing from this that the battery was already holding a 50% storage charge so the charging cycle was only 32 seconds.

Anyway, that's what happened. I guess that's enough charge to setup my ESC.

Thanks again!
