I know the kong powers are supposed to be good for a trex 450, but if I need a charger too... anyone have experience with this charger?

I guess it doesn't have an automatic feature for getting it to 50% storage charge like the cellpro 4 does.

thanks for any help!

haven't had any experience with that charger but I saw that deal on readyheli and was tempted, it looks similar to the new TP610 (or somethinglike that dont recall the exact number) charger, a charger and balancer is one and 2 batts, seems like a decent deal. not sure about the storage charger option either but you can always estimate, charge you packs halfway, better than leaving them all the way filled up for extended periods of time.

That is a sensational deal on two great packs and an excellent charger. The KP100W6 is based on the MaxproX6 which sells for $130. I have been using my MaxproX6 very happily for several months. It does have a Storage mode. It works as advertised, simple, safe and good quality IMO. Some folk have had PC driver problems getting the PC software to work but I don't use it so cannot comment.

i bought the kong batt/chrg combo and love it. if you can find a rs232 to usb adapter you can track your battery vitals every time you charge on your computer. i haven't recieved my adapter yet to try it but have charged 4 diff kinds of batteries now and it is awesome!

I also bougt the comco deal (charger + 2 batteries). Like them alot, and I'm not doing 3d yet so the extra weight from the KP batteries doesn't bother me. The balance of my helicopter is actually better with the kongs. With Align battery i have to place it much further out on the battery plate to get it level. Like the charger too, thinking about getting 2 more KP batteries soon.

Thanks for the responses.

Does anyone know first hand how this compares to the Cellpro 4, which is what I was leaning towards getting?

thanks!

I just got that combo. The charger does have an option for a storage charge.

The Cellpro4s is an excellent, safe and simple charger. However it is LiXx-only (up to 4S)and rated for only 50W/4A output. The KP100W6 is full feature, multichemistry, up to 6S and 100W/5A output, really a more capable unit all round.

Conclusion
If you want the convenience of an integrated ac/dc power supply then the BC6 is the top offering. The extra features, simpler use model and better LCD (at a guess) more than make up for the small price difference from the 0606iAD. The emergence of the MP 860DS, which appears to be the same as the 0606iAD but at a bargain price makes it the value leader.

If you want more than 50W output but don't want to spend more than $150 then the iC106B is the clear value leader. On features and performance it competes against other high-power chargers like the BC6-10 and EOS0610i but on price it is down in this group. A new model from a new brand, it is a bit of an unknown quantity, but promising.

Otherwise it is a toss up between the MaxproX6 and the TP610. Both offer good value in terms of features and power. The ability for the user to install firmware updates on the Maxpro is very appealing . In most cases in the US though, it is probably easier to get backup and support for the TP610C and it is bound to be popular.
