The Electronic Controller does that for you. You can "Push" this by trying to pause and re-go but for the most part I believe it's a general "rule of thumb" that when it takes more power to maintain altitude or you have to start "trimming" rubber it's time to land and change batteries.
Good luck and Happy Flying :)

There is a Low Voltage Cutoff (LVC)setting with most newer Speed Controls (Brushed and Brushless), the 3 in 1 does not have it, so there is only 1 way to know for sure. A good charger that shows how much charge (mah) is being put back into the battery. Charge battery to full, fly for 3 minutes and see how many mah it takes to recharge battery to full , lets say it took 300mah to charge it back to full. Take total charge back in and divide by minutes so 300/3 = 100 mah used per minute. Now knowing that you should never discharge a battery to less than 80% total means that 80% x 800mah ( Total size of stock battery) =640 mah so you should never take out more than 640 mah of the stock 800mah battery and if 100mah =1 minute you can fly for 6.4 minutes before you need to land and recharge.
This is all a moot point if you use the stock charger, I would just fly for no more than 7 minutes total and you should be ok for 50 flights or so before the battery needs to be replaced. the stock batteries aren't very good and don't last very long either.
