Ive been out of the hobby for about 4 years when I got bit by the heli bug end of 2006. Since then I've been flying a Blade CX2, CP-Pro and just got a 400 3D. What would be a good size\brand nitro heli to get back into nitro heli's? Thanks!

well i'm a no0b, but a trex 600 would do nicely. i have a hirobo shuttle plus. still learning to hover though. i take it you can fly, so it really boils down to what you can afford/want to spend. a raptor is another great choice.

what did you used to fly? i take it you sold it off, or feel it's now dated? theres a great deal on a century hawk i think pro with a os 37 for $285. i almost bought it but got my shuttle for $305. compleat heli with servos, starting wand, starter motor, training gear, and a gallon of fuel. well the motor was spanked, but even after buying a new motor, and the rest needed to get her in the air i'm happy with her.

I built/setup and was learning to fly my Raptor 30. At the time I was using a JR8103 radio but I sold everything. Now I'm hovering nose-in and learning L/R side in. I was talking to a guy at the LHS and he suggested a Align 600 nitro. One of the other LHS had a used X-cell 60 carbon with no electronics and a YS60 for sale fo $450! Would this be a good choice? I would use my DX6i with it! Thanks!

I'd go 50 size, power to weight and economy versus the larger machines make it the most popular choice.

There's several good 50s around, in no particular order the 600n, Titan 50, EVO 50 and the Vibe 50 is out now as well and a very high quality kit.

cool. i'll have to look at those myself. i'm in the market for my next heli. ounce i can hover nose, and tail in i'll get serious about looking. my lhs sells if memory serves me correct a pantera 50, but they have no parts on the wall for it. i like the trex 600n also. still trying to figure out where to go. nitro or electric. luckily i already have both. both have pros, and cons. i'll be watching this thread to see other likely helis for my net bird. oh ya the hurricane 550 is the top candidate in electric.

I'm really liking the JR Vibe 50 3D Pro. The JR helicopters seem to have a low parts count and I like how everything is laid out. I think the Vibe 50 is my next heli once I've mastered the Blade 400. Would my DX6i work okay with the Vibe 50? Not sure if I should bite the bullet and get a better radio now or just wait until I'm ready to get the Vibe? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Well with a decent gyro a 6 channel doesn't give you room to add a governor.

I don't know about low parts count, but the Vibe is a VERY NICE kit.
