Anyone have any experience painting the Align Hughes fuselage? I want to make her solid orange with decals to match a photo I have. What should I look out for? I figured I'd sand it with 300 grit, then 600 grit to get right of any lines. Prime her with auto primer than sand that and so on?

Thanks. I didn't think it would be, but I wasn't sure if there was something funny about the paint they used. I had one case were the new paint would peal no matter how much I sanded the existing paint.

I don't have the 500 fuse, but I did paint the EC-135 fuse.

You can use "scotch brite" or similar sanding pads (kind of like sythetic steel wool) to scuff up the finish for priming. If you use regular sandpaper, I'd go with 220-320 for primer, but you'll probably knock down some of the molded in detail.

Use 400 for final sanding the primer, and lay the color on top of that...
