I have a 601 and 611 gyro I am using in my helis.
I wanted to smooth out the center stick area - is adding a little expo. Ok with the Futaba gyro. and will it affect the gryo performance in a negative way,
With my Logitech - using expo. is expected with this gyro.
Any thoughts,
Jeff

I use expo on Rudder all the time when using the AVCS gyros. I use as much at -80% in Idle up modes when I was flying in F3C contests. The reason I did this is if I happen to lean on the rudder stick a little, is that input would not put the heli out of position as quickly as it would with no expo, Expo does not affect full stick deflection. The heli will still piro the same speed as it would with no expo,

Yep. If you think about how expo works you will understand the gyro doesn't know or care if you are or aren't using expo.
When you move the rudder stick the stick position is encoded and sent to the gyro to turn the helicopter. If you have expo, the stick is move, the position is encoded and adjusted for the expo amount, then sent to the gyro. The gyro just sees a turn command, if that turn command is 20 percent the gyro doesn't know (or care) that you moved the stick 20 percent or 30 percent.
