Well I just came across this heli and I'm wanting one. I have 3 CP-Pro's that I have on consignment to sell at the LHS and I was orinially wanting to get the new Blade CP-Pro2. This little heli has my attention. Where is the best place to get one? As far as the radio gear I have a DX6i radio, G90 gyro and two 2-cell 7.4V 800mAh Li-Po battery packs from my CX2 that can be used. Looking for recommendations on the remaining gear that I would need to get. I think that the HS-45HB servos are recommended but how about the tail servo? Receiver? Will the G90 gyro work ok? Thanks!

Well I did some digging in the other threads on what I need. So for now I'm planning on getting the HS-45HB (3) for the cyclic and the HS-50 for the tail if I use the E-flite G90 gyro that I have. Otherwise I might go with the Logictech 2100T & LTS-3100G Combo. For a receiver I'm going with the Spektrum AR6100E DSM2 Microlite 6Channel Rx End-Pin, Air Spectrum. Does that cover everything except getting the 203910 Gaui Hurricane 200 Helicopter Kit 90% RTF? I'm done with the E-flite CP-Pro's so I hope I'm making the right move to the Gaui 200. What do you think! Thanks!

First off, get the gaui from http://www.helihobby.com/html/hurricane_heli.html. Get the pro combo pack. It's everything you need besides tx/rx. Secondly, don't get use the G90, it's a terrible gyro! Use the Logitech 2100t. And get the gaui over the cp pro! Hope this helps.

heli cuzz...I've had 2 Blade CP's and have 3 CP-Pro's that I've rebuilt and trying to sell. I also have two Blade 400's which I'm selling one and a CX2. I guess that I'm partial to E-flite helicopters. With the Gaui 200 Pro combo pack what type of servo's come with it? I was reading the info at the bottom of the listing of the link you posted but wasn't sure if that was what's included or not. I really like the Blade CP-Pro2 thats coming out but the Gaui 200 looks so much better.

i'd like to see some pictures of the blade cp pro 2. anyway, the pro combo pack comes with hs-45s. they're great servos, and they fit absolutely perfectly! if you can fly a blade 400 and a blade cp pro, then flying the gaui will be hard at first, but you'll get up to speed really quickly. the gaui is a much better heli all around, plus, the gaui will better suit your needs in the long run. the choice is yours. :smokin:

What is the size difference between the Gaui 200 and the E-flite Blade CP-Pro?

i wouldn't even compare the two. the 200 is far superior to the anything eflite makes, i my opinion.

rotorhead58d....I know that you really can't compare the two but do the both fall into the same size class?

http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/TechnicalSpecs.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1350

there are the specs for each heli. the blade has got the gaui beat hands down for price. no one can deny that. i've never owned a blade cp, i can't deny that. i've looked at the blade at my lhs, and they looked like a really nice heli. the nearest i can come to explaining the way i feel about the comparison? if they were cars, the gaui would be a corvette, and the blade would be a toyota. both are good cars, but i'm driving the vette if i can afford to. i'm cursed with only being happy with the best i can get. as far as i know, there is no better 200 sized heli on the planet for the price.

oh, and rc feen...the combi8nation you would like to use will be an experiment. i've never seen anyone use that set up. who knows, maybe it'll fly great?

The blade CP is quite a bit bigger than the 200, I would call it a 300 maybe. Main blades are 257.5mm long.

rotorhead58d....What setup would you suggest? If I'm going to get a Gaui 200 I want to do it right the first time. Please advise.

hs45hb servos. i think most everyone uses them. AR6100e, or whatever rx suits you. gyro's? touchy subject. i don't think we've figured out which is best. known successful gyro's are gy401, 2100t, the stock gaui gyro, and a few other oddballs. most use either the 401, or the 2100t. tail servo s3154 seems to be a good choice, as well as the s3153. the logictech 3400has had good results too. but some guys use the bluebird servos even on the tail, and claim it flies great. batteries? take your pick. gaui, flightpower, kong...etc. 2s is what most are running, but there are some really good pilots running 3s. speed control? stock gaui seems great, but buzzkill was yakin about another one on one of the threads. i think it would be cool to try something off the wall, and see how it works. we need pioneers who have no problem spending their life savings to find out:)

For those of you that have the Gaui 200, did you buy it to be able to fly outside or inside? This is something I need to take into consideration. I really don't have room in my house to fly inside so I would have to do most of the flying outside. How well does the Gaui 200 handle outside? I know with my blade CP-Pro I has to be pretty clam outside to fly outside. One little gust or brezze the CP-Pro is all over the place. Thanks!

a really good pilot would have no problem with some wind. for a beginner, calm = good.

I crashed because of the space heater in my basement if that tells you anything. This space heater has a fan, forgot to turn it off, very limited hover experience at the time, over corrected, crashed.

I originally got mine to fly outside, as I have no room inside.... after getting used to how it handles, I found that I could fly inside the garage. I still do most of my flying outside, but in bad weather I practice in the garage.

As far as wind... have had both gaui 200 and blade cp pro... I'd say that they both are about the same when it comes to being effected by wind. Neither one likes much of it, at least in my hands :) A little breeze is ok, but is a lot easier to fly when there is no wind at all. However, the cpp has a harder time turning in the wind due to the tail motor. Although neither one likes much wind, overall the gaui just performs much better, so in a sense easier in the wind.... not so much that it's not effected by wind as much, but just a better heli all around imho :)

ouch! hope that the gaui didn't suffer too much damage... and hope that the space heater did :)

Just plastic parts. Wasn't a major catastrophe. Learned a valuable less though. Turn off any fans that might cause turbulence.

crabfu....thanks for you feedback. What gyro is recommended or the Gaui? I have a e-flite G90 gyro that I could use with the Gaui but most people don't care for them. The thing is I fly my CP-Pro without a gyro right now so adding any gyro would be a step in the right direction. I'm starting to second guess if I should get the Gaui 200. I've just recently been able to hover my CP-Pro in all orientations. Should I hold out on the Gaui until I'm proficient with the CP-Pro? I could always just slap some training gear on the Gaui until I get confortable with it. Other thing I'm thinking about is parts support. Two of the LHS carry E-flite products and spar parts. With the Gaui it would be internet part support only. What makes the Gaui so much better than the Blade CP-Pro? The metal head and belt driven tail? What made everyone want a Gaui 200? Right now I have these items in my basket at A-main hobbies if I'm getting one:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/images/pixel_trans.gif1 x Spektrum AR6100e DSM2 Microlite 6-Channel Receiver End-Pin - $44.99 (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/18116) http://www.amainhobbies.com/images/pixel_trans.gif

Sorry for the long post but I just want to make sure I cover everything and have all the infomation I need to make a clear decision on rather to get a Gaui 200 or not. Thanks!
