33 inch tail rod? [Archive]

Is there a 33" tail rod? What's the part number?

I don't like the looks of all that screw thread hanging out of the 31" rod on my Extreme.

I bought what I thought was going to be a longer rod from Rick's... the description: MA0868-15 "This is the longest one we have." What arrived was actually 2"+ shorter, not longer. :arggg:

At this point all I need is the rod. Anyplace common (hardware store chain, etc.) where I can expect to find carbon rods?

Hi Mark,

Our local Hobby store has carbon rods like this in 36” lengths, maybe yours does also.

I was able to find carbon rods at our local hobby store, but not the exact diameter of the ones provided by MA. I used a rod of slightly smaller diameter and it seemed to work OK, but I wanted one of the correct size. The rod for the Ion X is the longest one that MA has and the one I'm using now. Been using for a while, kicks butt! You'll need to order some teflon tubes for it.

That looks like a good setup. Because I ordered the whole rod kit, I have the screws (not titanium) and the teflon tubes + links. If I can't get what I want elsewhere, I'll definately give that a shot.

If you call MA they will make you a longer rod.
Chris did one for me for the stretch kit.
Should be here tomorrow or so....

Yes, the one you have must have been mis-packaged. The one on my Stratus is 31" and I cut some of it off, but I can't remember exactly how much. Over an inch I think.
