Friends Nitro Sport, TT53 Redline and MP5 muffler clearance problem

He called me tonight saying the MP5 seems like it's close to the fuel tank and that he hand to grind away ALOT of the bottom plate to get it to clear. When he sent me pics it seems like something isn't right like the muffler is "bent" in towards the tail.

Look at pics and comment please.

I dont see anything wrong with the pipe, it looks as if the exhaust port doesn't protrude as far as with other engine manufacturers.
I'd say get some AL gaskets under the header and shim the thing out.

For all you machine shop wizards out there, this sounds like a good money maker. Fab up a thick spacer/gasket.

it appears that the back or exhaust portion of the pipe "tails" in toward the frame more than the flange part. He had to clearance more of the frame than what I hear other people do. I wouldn't think the pipe should angle in like that. He called AMainhobbies where he purchased it from, showed them the link with pictures and they said it was a bad pipe. I guess I'll see when I mock up my similar combo, save for a pro kit instead of the sport.
