I know some of you can frequent the Align forum (chinese language). Would it be possible to pose the question, can Align look into sloting a Zenoah 20cc IE motor into the 700 airframe.

There is a guy on the otherr forum that put that engine in a 600N. Why not shoot for a 260

the 20 is lighter and comes with EI. I have been following the progress of the others but this seems like a simple job to do from the factory if they are so inclined. The Gasser market is screaming for an affordable available option and Align seem the most active company in the field right now. Not everyone needs a hi-po 3d monster, many of us (i assume) want reliable ,affordable sport flyers

Plus, you've already got a 20cc engine that you're not using right now, huh Ozace? :D

I have several gas motors, i prefer the EI versions but i am not opposed to a 23cc heli motor. My personal preference would be the rc car versions of the 23-26cc lines. They already have a clutch and cooling built in (at 30% less $$ than the heli versions).

I suppose at the end of the day i would like to see an affordable, accessable gasser in any form the designer sees fit.

no need. your voices here are heard by the people from Align.

I'd like to see gas option as well.

Even though i have nothing to do with the business side of the hobby i think this has shown there is enough interest from some of us for Align to at least look into it (pretty please)

An affordable easy to build and cheap to maintain gasser is my ideal helicopter.

I'd be interested in such a helicopter too. :)

I think there would be a lot of interest for a reasonably priced to repair gas airframe. It would just take a small change in the frame itself and a few small other parts and voala. Just like taking control of the 450 market, considering the cost of fuel, Align has an opportunity here.

20cc with EI sounds great.

I think it would be nice for Align to respond to us.
I am told they follow the forums and "know" what is being said. I do not expect them to say "ya"or "na" but it would be nice to read they will consider it at least. Affordable , sport flying gassers with good availability is non existant right now and its a market that can be exploited (20cc, 23cc, or 26cc). I dont think anyone believes a gasser had to be a wild 3d machine but as the Align airframes have all been agile i am sure this could be quite sporty.

I would get one too. I always wanted a gasser.

I'd also buy one. Gassers are awesome, and it'd be nice to have an option with inexpensive parts and light weight.

A Gasser is my next Heli purchase, Opting away from a 90 heli for that very reason. I want big but I don't need a Hydo or Nitro Pig.......Sport flying on the biggies and 3D (Sort of) on the 50 and smaller size for me. I will be buying one near the end of the season or sooner......so far Bergen has my eye. Not to mention he shows a positive attitude on this site to regular Joe's. my 2c

A nod and a wink from Align to say they will look into it would be nice.

Anybody have a spare Zenoah 20cc IE they can let me borrow?:)

Im not buying a rex700. The 600N eats enough expensive nitro and 90 sized can really eat it up. I would however buy a 700+ gasser from align. 1 gallon of regular mixed with oil goes along way. Whats the cost of that? 3.50 gallon regular + oil mix. 5.00? vs 16-26 a gallon nitro depending on what you run. I just switched to wildcat 15% from curtis 30% because of cost.

My thoughts were not a conversion as such (there are guys working on that now).
I would like to see a factory job. Motor mount, clutch , pinion and fan is all that is really needed and should be a easy excercise for the factory.

I'd definitely be interested in one... Or any gasser for that matter.

I wanted a 90 but fuel is so expensive that I'm re-thinking that... Only problem I see with a gasser is potential for more vibrations and heavier for the power they put out. Still, it'd be nice to fly all day on a half gallon of fuel for a couple of bucks:)
